  1. Man I am [expletive] ecstatic right now. Wasn't in love with Barr but he's a freak athlete at a position of need. Raw but I think Zimmer has the kind of track record to have faith he can coach him up. But Teddy, at 32? Can't believe it. I don't know if he'll ever be a top 5 QB and you never really know [expletive] but I am confident he'll be good. The guy I wanted most at that spot, only giving up a 4th after gaining an early 5th. After getting the head coach I was hoping for and the OC I wanted. This offseason couldn't have realistically gone much better from my perspective.
  2. Tulo's overall line so far is .421/.522/.794 for a 1.317 OPS. In 51 AB's at home, he's hitting .608/.677/1.098 for a 1.775 OPS.
  3. Wasn't planning on this but there is a need and I can't believe he's still there. Carlos Hyde, RB from Ohio State.
  4. Junior crushed that thing. He's having a hell of a day.
  5. Don't drop that [expletive]. Just don't drop it. I pray to God you don't drop that [expletive].
  6. I mean it's hard to knock a kid for going to the #1 team and possibly playing on a national champion next year but good luck getting consistent minutes. Decent chance he gets recruited over in '15 and/or '16 also.
  7. You [expletive]. Needs at CB, LB and possibly S on defense, I would try to trade down a bit here if possible. Obviously have to get a QB somewhere. I'm personally not huge on Bortles and he seems like Norv's kind of QB but every site/outlet has a different story on who they actually like. Tempted to take Mosley here but.... The Vikings select Blake Bortles
  8. Dang, missed this thread. Vikings again please.
  9. He was not terribly far from getting fired prior to the end of this season(for some reason). The UT crowd didn't seem to care for him, so it's not much surprise to me that he capitalized on the strong finish this year to get out. Strange that he would go so far from his recruiting ties. Though to be fair I haven't looked at where his recruits at UT have come from so maybe he was casting a wider net than I thought. Good for him to move on to where he's wanted and presumably paid more. I think he's just getting a good gig while he can. Fans wanted him fired until their late run and they were going to be worse next year. Buzz Williams though, man.
  10. These Sammy videos are awesome though.
  11. Same. I liked him but he was never on the level of Dawson or Grace for me. Andre was my favorite as a kid by far. Then Sammy, but Wood had me from the 20 K game when I was in 8th grade and watched it live. I doubt I'll ever have the same love for players that I had for Hawk and Kerry.
  12. Glorious. Plus it looks like it was gonna be just fair, yes? Yeah I had MLB Network on while that happened. They called it foul initially. It was challenged and overturned, giving them a double.
  13. Mooney piece on the Tanaka process: http://www.csnchicago.com/cubs/cubs-vs-yankees-look-inside-tanaka-bidding-war
  14. That was great.
  15. Rusin called up, Schlitter to Iowa.
  16. He had to either stop and step on 2nd or at least attempt swiping at a tag. Instead he just gave up. That was terrible.
  17. Don't think I'd be pleased with that if I were a Marquette fan.
  18. I think he was consensus better than Peppers and pretty decent. Not a stud, but good. He's declined quite a bit the last two years, especially last year. He still plays his ass off and never wants to come off the field but he was completely shut down against good LT's. A lot of his sacks last year came on cleanup after forced hurries from Robison or blitzes. Also seemed like he was taken advantage of more in the run game than the past. If they use him right I'm sure he can still be effective, I just don't think he's a difference maker as a full-time guy anymore.
  19. Would going .500 feel substantially better to you than losing 90 games? Because at the end of the day, it wouldn't feel much different to me. Non-contention sucks, and that dissatisfaction is not assuaged by the pretense of "respectability". I think the Cubs are a year or two from contention, and whether we lose 80 or 90 games this year doesn't make one iota of difference, imo. I am a lot more excited about the team than I was, say, in the second half of the 2011 season. yes i would much prefer to win 81 games than 65. i like watching baseball, and if the cubs aren't a miserable sack of [expletive], i get to keep doing that for the whole season instead of willing myself to forget they exist by the second week of june. No [expletive]. It also completely ignores that if they're an 81 win team, there's a good chance you're in contention for something late into the summer.
