  1. Right, they could do that via some of the substations they've been having the WCIU games on. A lot of affiliates outside of the Chicago local area but in the Cubs market picked them up last year. The problem is DirecTV/Dish don't carry the substations (KCRG 9.2 around here for example) like cable companies do. So everyone in the Cubs market that has a dish package would be frozen out totally.
  2. I wish I could see Rizzo's reaction. I'm happy for that guy, he has to be so [expletive] pumped.
  3. Who is going to be the reporter that gets the scoop first?
  4. What a weird/poorly worded tweet. what is with the tweet police lately It just reads confusing to me.
  5. Anyone ever have tweets from people they follow not show on their timeline? I follow Levine and his earlier tweets came across today but his last two do not show up. When I click on his profile, I see them. Same thing happened with Stark today.
  6. Yep. I was excited about getting solid production from the catcher spot and keeping both fresh. If we don't get Lester, hopefully they don't bother with Ross and just stick with Welly and Montero unless they can still get an upgrade somewhere by dealing Wellington.
  7. This was from Buster Olney's ranking of catchers (input from GM's and evaluators) where he had Montero 9th: Keep working Hank.
  8. Yep, being parroted by everyone: Get the [expletive] out of here.
  9. So if not, we just do nothing? Typical. How miserable are you? Yes I'm sure it will either be "get everyone" or "get no one". Don't they know they have to keep up with a team in the AL Central?
  10. The last sentence says "a bat in addition to Montero"
  11. This is so dumb: http://www.si.com/college-basketball/2014/12/06/madison-square-garden-hosts-big-ten-tournament-2018 Big Ten tournament will be in MSG in '18 but will be hosted a week early and end 7 days before Selection Sunday. Meaning you could get bounced in the quarters and have 2 full weeks between that and your 1st round NCAA game.
  12. [expletive] yeah!
  13. Those were big. We got this.
  14. Hoyer on with Levine: -Nice things about Lester and his background but the story is only worth so much. Really comes down to how -Idea that dominos have to fall is wrong. They've spent a long time looking at free agents and trade pieces. Could take a long time. Still early in the process. -Need to add pitching, need to add OBP. -Versatility they have is exciting. Have the perfect manager to exploit that and move guys around the diamond. Something he likes to do. Getting everyone in the mindset that they might move around the order and field. Can be a huge advantage to get through injuries, etc. -Maddon has made some phone calls during FA process like any manager would. His hire hasn't really changed the plan. With versatility it makes them more comfortable now because he's a guy who likes to do that. -Things seem to happen quicker at winter meetings. Important not to get caught up in craziness, talk about not changing their process based on 4 days there.
  15. Alright, I'm ready for the Cubs to do something now.
  16. Gesell. Woodbury has been pretty good thus far. White has been great, Uthoff great at times but disappears for too long. The guards have been horrible.
  17. As horrible as the Bears looked, the Vikings have won in Chicago twice since 2000. 2000 and 2007. That's it, that's the list. I love Teddy, love Zimmer and this defense has been much better than I expected. But I'm going to go into this game fully expecting another Bears win over the Vikings.
