  1. that's an understatement. I did a double take when I saw that schedule. wow. Yep. First 10 is Wisconsin and Ohio State twice, at Purdue, at Minnesota, at Michigan, vs. Maryland, MSU and Nebraska. Toughest schedule in the league by a decent margin. If they can get to 6-4 that would surpass almost everyone's expectations. Even 5-5 is solid. Last 8 are home vs. Minnesota, Rutgers, Illinois, Northwestern. At Northwestern, PSU, Nebraska, Indiana. Pomeroy has them favored in 7/8 but going 6-3 to finish 11-7. I'd take that.
  2. Well that was fun. Huge game at home vs. Maryland on Sunday. Much easier final 8 games.
  3. Why did Goff get fired in Atlanta?
  4. First time ever 3 teams from Iowa are ranked in the AP top 25.
  5. Oh for [expletive]'s sake.
  6. That's huge for the Vikings. I was really hoping Losing him to a divisional team would have really sucked. Two years in a row he's turned down all interviews to stay asst. GM in Minnesota. At some point I'd think he'll want to leave but he's apparently content for now.
  7. Huge road win for Iowa at Ohio State. Gonna be an unpredictable team all year.
  8. Wasn't his hand size and concern about fumbling a factor as well? The old Dave Krieg syndrome. Yeah that's true. Kurt Warner had small hands too. He and Krieg were good QBs despite that. I didn't really buy that excuse either. This was a funny example of how it became an issue for Teddy but then never got mentioned with others:
  9. Wasn't his hand size and concern about fumbling a factor as well? The old Dave Krieg syndrome. Also saw this: dcvalpo may carry more weight than all though.
  10. And 5th (I assume since they said top 5, I don't have PFF premium) from weeks 8-17.
  11. I love the "unemployed coach would be interested in _______ head coaching job" reports.
  12. That's fair. I don't know that he'll ever be a top 5 QB but I could definitely make the argument that he's top 20 right now which is pretty good for a rookie. He had one of the worst pass blocking OL in the league, no Peterson (or his backup), no Rudolph, Patterson was a no-show and he ended up having 2 of his top 4 WR's be guys who were on practice squads to start the year. Ended the season 11th in completion percentage, 14th in YPA, 22nd in rating and QBR, highest rookie QBR since Luck/Wilson/RG3, third highest rookie completion percentage ever. And he was trending up. 9.2 YPA the last 4 games. 72% completion percentage over last 5 with a rating over 100. PFF ranked him 15th this year and 2nd in the league over the last 5 weeks.
  13. He doesn't really impress me at all. Whatever. Words like "great" and "stellar" were possibly not used seriously. He is not good. He was extremely mediocre against an atrocious Bears' defense today. At least 60 of his 200 passing yards were directly a result of the Bears being clueless in coverage...that includes the touchdown. Not sure what people really see in Bridgewater, but he will wash out in a few years. Dumb. You haven't even said anything specific about why he's bad. Just that he'll wash out in a few years. Read: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/12/24/analysis-notebook-week-16-2/ Look at his actual production with the [expletive] show he's had around him. Then remember he's a rookie. Maybe read what people who actually scout and break down film think.
  14. /Not trying to troll but you guys don't care about this game so... Glad to finally have a Bears/Vikings game where I would definitely take our QB/Head Coach combo over the Bears.
  15. Guess I wasted 5 minutes looking up Peterson and Lavarnaway's stats.
  16. This is beyond dumb. Coaches/instructors have recognized it and tried to work on it with catchers for years and years before it was ever a thing among advanced metric people.
  17. Ross does not have a deal with the Padres yet.
  18. Braves MLB writer says it's not A's, Mariners or Rangers but Padres still a possibility. Rosenthal says not Rangers or A's but can't rule out the Padres.
  19. Anyways, [expletive] that game. In like 4.5 minutes of gametime it went from intense, evenly played game to no contest. Iowa wilted and threw the ball away leading to ISU layups or open 3's that they didn't miss. [expletive]. Can't remember being that angry/frustrated at a game. Need to watch some more Jon Lester coverage or something.
  20. He is/was a wrestler at ISU, correct? I'm guessing the backlash he'll get won't be good but if it ever came time to throw down, he wouldn't be scared.
  21. Blackout issues come up for those who live in the Cubs territory but don't get the channel games are switching too. People in Indy probably don't get wls7 but did get wgn. No [expletive]. This sucks for a large percentage of the fan base unless something changes.
  22. Hey, strawman! When did I say he's a menace to society? Don't be that kind of ISU fan. It's a pretty clear pattern of just being a dick. I'm not even saying that deserves a suspension. I'd rather he not be suspended so if Iowa wins it doesn't have to come with that disclaimer. UNLV suspended him for the last game and didn't want him back because of issues he had with teammates and failed drug tests according to UNLV fans. Do you really think White, Lucious and the other guys who came to ISU after being dismissed from their previous programs just flipped a switch? The admission that the cops call Fred and meet with him and the player after being called 12 times and going there 9 times rather than just give him a ticket provides a pretty clear look at how he runs the show in Ames.
  23. Suspended for tomorrow night. Most amusing part to me is that the cops were called 12 times, went there 5 times and met with him and Fred rather than ever ticketing him before. The Mayor knows how to keep all his [expletive] under wraps. Somehow people will still believe that the guys who were total problems in previous spots just changed their ways overnight when they get to Ames.
  24. So glad to have Hammel for 2/$20 compared to McCarthy at 4/$48.
