  1. Beating the [expletive] out of Northwestern is fun.
  2. Next year is gonna be awesome. The next year is gonna be even better. This rules.
  3. Gammons on the Maddon hire: http://www.gammonsdaily.com/peter-gammons-cubs-get-their-man-in-maddon/ Only negative was this part:
  4. Coaching staff will be interesting. Obviously they like Bosio. Just hired Mallee and Hinske turned down an opportunity to become the Yankees hitting coach to stay as asst. hitting coach.
  5. A guy that has 6 figures to blow on travel and tickets to events? Yeah it probably is.
  6. Thank God we're not in their division and the playoffs are random.
  7. Ned did a good job with his bullpen last night.
  8. Whatever. It's a lot more fun to dream on him at catcher with an infield of Rizzo, Baez, Castro, Russell that hits 120 home runs. Before getting to an OF that includes Soler and Bryant combining for another 50+.
  9. For Kyle: He said the expectation is for Javy to be at 2B and basically that they'll deal with some growing pains rather than panic if he's still struggling. Then Telander was dumb.
  10. Miles says the Cubs are 50/50 to stay in Kane County. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20140915/news/140919038/
  11. I need this clip! Need. I was watching, it was great. Reynolds chewed on a pen the rest of that segment. Smoltz tried to throw him a bone by saying he probably had the most chances and HR agreed that yeah he was sure he did. Bo Porter was on and defended Donaldson's errors by saying that they've had a lot of first basemen and wondered how many of his errors are throwing. He thinks Beltre is the best though. Amsinger has debated him a lot about Donaldson and Harold does his standard "I'm sorry (he always says that) but you can't lead the league in errors and win the gold glove. I'm saying, it just can't happen. I'm sorry." The only bad part is I think someone in his ear tipped him off that they were going to show that graphic. It was after they'd been going for a few minutes that Amsinger asked Porter if he'd have a problem with a guy leading the league in errors winning the GG. Harold said "I did that once, had 25 errors..". Then Amsinger said something like you actually did that 3 times and they threw the graphic up. He didn't really backtrack just went with nonsense about how it's the type of errors that matter and he watches Donaldson every night. Decision making matters, etc.
  12. sucks. they controlled that game. By score yes. But Iowa outgained them 455-219. First downs were 27-12. Iowa fumbled a handoff that BSU returned for a TD. Then Iowa fumbled a kick return that led to a FG. Iowa also missed FG's from 29, 35 and 37. Iowa played terrible offensively and in the kicking game, defense played very good. They need to find an identity offensively fast. The defense should be pretty solid. No idea what to do at kicker.
  13. I like it. Getting Murray and Stacy after Graham is huge and Fitzgerald is a fringey WR1 that you still managed to land. If you got Kaepernick in the 5th, I might have waited and gotten a little bit better at WR and taken your chances at QB, but I could see this working out. Thanks. I actually took Sanders in the 5th (bit of a reach maybe) and Kap in the 6th, then Colston in the 7th. My initial plan was to wait on QB but I did that last year and got stuck with Eli after a QB run. That killed me.
  14. 12 team league, picked 9th (Graham), .5 PPR. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 D/St, 1 K. QB- Kaepernick, Flacco RB- Murray, Stacy, Fred Jackson, Terrance West, Andre Williams WR- Fitzgerald, Emmanuel Sanders, Marques Colston, Greg Jennings, Jordan Matthews, John Brown TE- Jimmy Graham D/ST- Rams and Saints K- Vinatieri
  15. Poor Kris, he's going to be so lonely.
  16. Braxton Miller reportedly hurt his shoulder today with some reports saying he might be out all year.
  17. Mooney's article: http://www.csnchicago.com/cubs/jorge-soler-next-man-cubs-sending-down-junior-lake
  18. Right. And Soler would be up there with Addison but with positional adjustment, I think I give the nod to Russell. If his defense at SS is at least going to be solid as most seem to think now, along with contact rates, discipline, power... damn.
  19. Byron Buxton: .240/.313/.405, 33 K in 134 PA at A+ Addison Russell: .315/.385/.536, 32 K in 187 PA at AA and Russell's younger just sayin' Russell has to be the safest thing we have to be at least above average at his position-occasional All-Star, right?
  20. That 2-0 pitch could/should have been destroyed
  21. [expletive], missed it by about 3 feet.
