  1. Holding onto him as a corner outfielder or utility guy? He’s blocked from the infield until 2030. Yes, one of our trio of young infielders will be moved depending on the caliber of pitcher they trade for. And for the record I love a great bench. They don’t win in 2016 without one. The vision isn’t entirely clear no matter how matter how easy it is to speculate.
  2. I can’t too excited over small sample sizes, and the fact that he’ll likely be traded, but he’s handling ML pitching much better in his first stint than Shaw/Mo/PCA/whoever in his limited at bats. The lack of reps on the bench is atypical for how the Cubs handle their young talent but at least the bench is better.
  3. Sure. I think Pedro’s vulnerable to whiffing on high heat. is that correct?, Arreaz is a throwback from the pre analytics era and I enjoy it to be honest.
  4. A 5 star catch without even leaving his feet which makes it so insane.
  5. I wonder what the catch probability on that was. There’s tons of dumb fucks who think that’s an easy play to make because he didn’t have to dive for it..
  6. Happ hasn’t gone yard since the Milwaukee series. It’s his turn.
  7. Second triple this weekend with assistance from Twins outfielders.
  8. Tigers are way better than their record and have won 9/11. They’ll win the AL central if the Sox don’t if I had to bet and we’re catching them at a bad time, even while missing Skubal and Mize.
  9. I’ll give him a month before he’s DFAd, only to be signed to a second contract 2 days later when Mathew Boyd has his left arm amputated from a staph infection.
  10. I was a huge fan of the rich Harden trade at the time until Josh Donaldson won league MVP. Now I tell everyone I hated the trade the moment it happened.
  11. There’s such a big hill to climb with every key arm from the opening day staff not only injured but will be used sparingly if and when they return from the IL. So many arms away from being at 70% of your projected mid season pitching staff. I wonder if a package deal for Williams, with team control at a non discounted price and Peralta is on the table.
  12. The Pirates are the only one of those 3 that worries me, but with 19 games left against all 3, evenly split, there’s huge implications. No repeat of 2023 versus Miami and Arizona.
  13. I’d love to see both Nico and Pete hot at the same time.
  14. Alex Brujans “hot streak” consisted of a 93 mph home run and a bloop, pop up double.
  15. Boyd is the only starting pitcher on this staff that I have any real confidence in.
  16. Second half Bregman is as much of a thing as a motivated Dayo.
  17. I’ll never not be disgusted by fans booing montero in his return to wrigley as a blue jay in 2017.
  18. Yeah. It’s not sustainable playing at a 667 clip with a rotation allowing 4.5 runs/game (since Ben browns injury).
  19. The problem is it’s usually 5 runs or bust with a pitching staff that has allowed 4 or more runs in 55/97 games. The lack of a stopper in the rotation will become noticeable when the bats become human with the remaining schedule.
