  1. When can we expect PCA to progress to the mean and finally see some stabilization? He’s face planted in the wrong direction after his 6 month tear from August of 24-July 25 with a 130 wRC+ and 7.3 fWAR.
  2. He definitely won’t finish with a 372 average. He wouldn’t have to with the league batting average over 20 points lower, with a universal DH and the difference positional value. It’s unlikely he sustains this level of play and finishes with a 7+ but finishing with 6 fWAR is optimistic but doable.
  3. Nico has never finished a season with double digit homers either. For single digits I’d think Ichiros 2004 season where he amassed a 7.1 with 8 homers tops the list without double checking. A difference of 3 home runs but I’ll cap it at under 10 digits just for fun. Nicos been on a tear since last September with a 2.2 in 37 games. If the playoffs counted he’d be at about 3 fWAR in 45 games.
  4. He jumped Cam Brock for 1st. This is the year he finally makes an all star game. Long overdue.
  5. There’s a y at the end, isn’t there. I’ll fix it. Thanks.
  6. Not doomed anymore than Steele’s season ending injury after 4 starts doomed them last season. Especially against a bad Rays team. Losing Horton for the year and Boyd for a month is a setback though.
  7. We’d all rather see Rea in a long relief role. That would entail having a fully healthy rotation. It’s not a knock on him.
  8. I know. He’s close. Suzuki is returning on Friday, right?
  9. Now it’s Busch’s turn to get going. They’ll need more of this with the rotation injuries and the schedule toughening up.
  10. The long term implications suck. Sucks for Horton. Short term implications suck with Boyd out too. They’re horsefeathered if they can’t score runs with a backend rotation of Tailon, Assad and Rae for at least a month.
  11. Who’s the next incompetent yes man general manager Jerry Jr will hire and keep employed for 6 seasons too long? I’ll bet whoever it is will hire Doc Rivers. He’ll be desperate enough and will deliver the Bulls to the promise land which is winning the bubble tournament only to be bounced in 5 by the 1 seed.
  12. Why hasn’t Mo been in the lineup? I’m not a fan of giving Carlson or Conforto key at bats in close games. At least Conforto can draw a walk.
  13. Sure. Everyone freaked out in the spring of 2024 and 2023 until the bats finally woke up. Will they wait until they’re 10 games back of first place in mid June or July before going on a heater, finish with 86 wins and miss the playoffs?. Rae, Assad and Tailon pitching 60% of their games is less than ideal.
  14. The good news is that we’ll be able to salvage the next 2 games with Assad and Rae on the Mound.
  15. For splits? He pinch hit a good hitter for a bad hitter regardless of pitcher handedness. It’s understandable if Amaya is injured or it’s a blowout I guess.
  16. Down by a run in the 7th inning isn’t the time for in season try outs by giving Carlson an at bat.
  17. I hope Amaya isn’t hurt. There’s no strategy behind pinch hitting Amaya for Conforto there.
  18. I still feel good about the series with Assad and Rae going on Tuesday and Wednesday.
