  1. It’s doubtful they’ll find any day 3 talent in the trenches that will address anything.
  2. To a degree, although Loveland and Burden you could still make sense of as BPA.
  3. It would make as much sense as these picks.
  4. I don’t feel nearly as bad about losing comp picks as I did 12 hours ago. Can anyone give a glass half full perspective on whatever the horsefeathers just happened?
  5. Even though tight end was as much of a priority as a punter there’s some upside there if his RAS translates into the NFL. He was also hurt by bad quarterback play. Thomas was over-drafted by 3 rounds and is just a wasted cute pick.
  6. I also wonder if Burnes will be shopped by the Giants after loading up on edge in consecutive drafts.
  7. Sanchez is the type of pitcher who would’ve shut this team out last year.
  8. Good pick addressing a position of need and taking one of the best available players..
  9. It’s a lofty wish but having a rig it handed Andrew Miller would be really nice. He’s no longer a thrower but a pitcher with a decent mix so far.
  10. They’d basically have to not be sold on Rome, plus the board absolutely sucks with a can’t miss receiving talent there at 25 for that to happen.
  11. I wasn’t implying that you were suggesting it. But beyond Romes father being a mouth piece for Rome and DJ not consistently engaged on every play unless he knew was getting the ball, clearly they weren’t satisfied with their targets. You also have 3 guys on rookie contracts looking for a pay day. In order to get paid you need the stats and receptions. Unless Peyton manning is your quarterback who can feed everyone, you’ll have a group of unhappy receivers given their draft position and or pedigree in DJs case.
  12. We’re only 24 games in but I see similarities with this offense and the 2008 team with better defense. Hopefully the season ends on a higher note.
  13. Outside of Busch still struggling to pull the ball with authority, yes. Suzuki’s timing is back which is encouraging.
  14. 5 strikeouts and no walks from Brown. He looked really good tonight.
  15. I had it on mute. They’re the same people who booed Montero in his return to wrigley in 2017 so it wouldn’t surprise me at all. The answer is because there’s a ton of idiots who attend Cub games.
  16. Cubs positional and pitching bWAR and fWAR are 6.9 vs 5.2 and 1.1 vs 1.8, in 2025 it was equally contrasting at 39.4 vs 31.1 and 13.4 vs 7.7. .
  17. So basically it’s were a watching a repeat of that Pirates game from 11 dad ago. Is Busch playing with an injury?
  18. Drafting Concepcion would take a lot of balls after using top 10 picks in consecutive draft on pass catchers plus pick 39. Not to mention the Claypool trade and the other draft capital used during Poles tenure. A room full of pissed off, talented receivers having to share targets is bad for team chemistry unless they want to shop Odunze at some point.
  19. You can always plug in an OT at guard in the off chance that Ozzy ever fully recovers. The last thing I want is reaching on a defensive lineman at 25 out of desperation in a draft full of flawed prospects with the hope that they’ll become the same caliber of player as Chase young.
