Another example of just how weird of a season this has been. The Cubs are 11-10 against teams 20+ games under 500, 21-24 against the awful American League, despite a +52 run differential 22-9 against NL teams 10+ games over 500 who aren’t the piss ant Brewers in the regular season. Also a combined 22-5 vs the Reds, Mets and Phillies, in contrast to 9-16 in 2025.

Right. The 2 seeded Braves played the 6 seeded Phillies in 2022. The rule wasn’t ever relevant to the Cubs until this year so I forgot how seeding worked.

I think we’re over rating the Eagles a bit. They beat the terrible titans and Commanders by a combined 6 points and they’re not the same dynamic offense without AJ Brown. I think it’ll be a close game, especially if Goddart doesn’t play and Barkley is isn’t 100%. -
A force out that probably wouldn’t have been necessary if Pedro didn’t misplay a ground ball, and ot not leaving 10 runners on base while going 1-9 over the last 2 games. Par for the course that Bregmans absence has literally been the difference between 2 wins.

Bregman’s replacement has gone 1-9 with 10 runners LOB and a misplayed infield ground ball that would’ve eventually been the third out of the 6th inning. You can’t make this horsefeathers up.
