I don’t know what’s more surprising, Busch Suzuki and PCA having combined for 1 homer run in 22 games and a mid 500’s combined OPS of the fact that the cubs are scoring at a 5.3 runs/game clip inspite of that.

He looks like a 13 year old reacting to breaking balls for the time when he’s in his funks.

It’s still misplaced hatred no matter how you slice it. Victor Diaz wasn’t the reason.they dropped 6 of their next 7. The Marlins I hate more to be honest and it’s super annoying that it’s ilegal for Chicago sports teams to win championships as an underdog.

Victor Diaz is still fresh on my mind and even more than Daniel Murphys Mets. Cubs have swept them 9 times since 2014 and it never feels like enough.

Bregman raised his xWOBA with that dribbler to Lindor.

We’re 21 games into the season and Suzuki and Busch are without a home run and Bregman last homered 3 weeks ago. All with a sub 700 OPS. Other than Happ the 2-5 have sucked..

965 vs righties in Iowa, 577 vs lefties in Iowa. His splits in Tennessee were 832 804. He smoked righties after moving up a level and became gage workman against lefties. That’s far below the league average wRC+ at 85, much like PCAs extreme splits and Busch to a small degree. granted only 26 left handed hitter had a wRC+ of at least 100 vs left handed pitchers with at least 100 PAs last season. I had no idea how common these extreme splits are for even some of the best hitters.

The 2-5 hitters outside of Happ need to get going. 2 home runs and zero in the last 17 games from Busch, Suzuki and Bregman won’t be enough unless Nico finishes with an 11 war.

All 30 teams played spring training in Arizona or Florida. I think everyone is affected equally whether you’re from the south or from Minnesota like Busch who hasn’t hit in any temperature.

Busch and Mo last season in the minors he extreme platoon splits but close to dead even in 2024. Is this an organizational philosophy coaching, left handed bats to adjust their swings paths towards mashing righties or is this typical throughout the league?
