  1. These same problems game after game after game after game are getting really old.
  2. Our middle of the order is money. Always reliable for a big RBI knock and tons of slug.
  3. It’s be nice to take 2/3 in a series for the first time in 3 1/2 weeks.
  4. For me, Brewers. The peak era of Cubs success began in 2015 and since 2018, the Brewers are constant pests with overlapping success. The Cubs just sucked during the peak of the cardinals rivalry and was rooted in tradition more than the Cardinals being an October roadblock to anywhere near the degree of Milwaukee. It was also easier to rationalize the Cardinals success with players like Pujols, Rollen, Edmonds, Wainwright etc than a team that pumps out 90+ wins every season with an 82 win roster on paper, adding to the frustration. That and the Packers connection.
  5. That and I expect the running game to be more efficient in short yardage now with Roush being added to their 13 personnel package. I like his receiving upside with an already high floor as a blocker.
  6. He’s underrated if anything due to the sheer amount of dumbasses who act like he’s Ke’Bryan Hayes or something.
  7. Does Horton have any trade value?
  8. He’s second in baseball since April 14th with a 2.2 and a 131 wRC+.
  9. 4 pitch strikeout there on only changeups. Good work from Brown.
  10. I wonder if the way the fielders are positioned so far back because of his speed is causing some of that bad luck.
  11. It’s enraging that Bregman crushed a ball within feet of the foul pole for a foul ball while that lame bunt is followed up by a rbi single.
  12. The one good pitcher for the cubs is on the mound and he can’t get run support.
  13. This team has elite warning track power. Happ and Conforto are the only guys who can go yard with any consistency. horsefeathers sakes.
  14. He’s thrown 14 pitches in the last 8 days coming into last night. He’d be just fine. Vs the Cardinals middle of the order, it’s my opinion that Palencia is the better option there. It doesn’t mean that the Cubs lost because of that decision, it’s just an alternative to trotting out Maton who’s been bad for your best relief pitcher who’s covered in cob webs from lack of use and meaningful innings.
  15. The Cubs. Palencia came in down 1-0 in the 8th inning Vs Texas. His last appearance was in the 7th inning down 12-1 vs Pittsburgh on Tuesday. So using him to hold a 1 run deficit on 3 days of rest with 1 save opportunity in the last 3 weeks isn’t exactly a bold strategy.
  16. Correct. Our best reliever is mostly used in low leverage spots during blowouts to prevent rust.
  17. Palencia. He’s rarely been used since his injury with the lack of save opportunities. I understand the bind that Counsell is in and the win probability aspect of being down by a run in the 8th inning, but the rotation is so bad that at some point I’d like him to be more aggressive when There’s a chance to hold a 1 run deficit. Looking ahead to Sunday with Wicks on the mound is assuming the Cubs will actually have a lead in the 9th inning in a tight game. He’s terrible and that’s a bad assumption.,
