Yep. You’ve articulated all of my thoughts. I’d add Seiya to the list of righties being hammered by sliders and sweepers away, more than I’ve ever seen and hasn’t really adjusted. Of course some of the batted ball luck is a product of predictable spray charts from multiple guys. They hit right into the shift way too often and can’t use the whole field to make hard contact.
PCA Seiya and Busch Hitting a combined 7 home runs since the all star break makes it less forgiving. Top of the order is killing them and I won’t even mention Tucker.
The benefit of Nico Hoerner is he can actually hit it to all parts of the field keeping the defense guessing and his lack of power comes in handy where his soft line drive hits are routine, outfield fly outs for the other 8. His power suffers of course but at least he can get a hit with RISP. This lineup is fcked without the long ball and they might as well just sit on fastballs and wait for a mistake at this point.
