Jed went all in instead of half assing the trade deadline like we all expected, I’m not at all upset over a potential overpay. People have been begging Jed to be irrational and this is the year to do it with some roster turnover and aging infielders.

Bit of an overpay. But for once Jed didn’t half ass the trade deadline. Extract as much out of Suzuki and Happs last years here and you also have an aging infield. If Holmes goes to Milwaukee instead then you’re in even deeper horsefeathers. I don’t mind it, even if 2027 is still a question mark.

Adell would be perfect if he could play 1st base as a platoon option, but still a solid DH option. An extra year of control might inflate the price tag.

Shaw is too short and doesn’t have enough reach for my liking but sure, he’s an option.

He could use some rest here and there, no? They signed Tyler Austin inspite of nothing happening to Busch.

Cubs definitely could use a 1st baseman. They’ll have a clogged bench if Shaw and Ramirez stay put.

I’m getting Mackenzie Gore flashbacks. Gausman is better than Soroka at least.

PCA has 8 hits since the first inning against Paul Skenes 9 days ago and all of them have been XBHs.

Petersens last 3 starts have come against a struggling cardinals offense and with the wind howling in at wrigley but a nice pickup either way.

I think Soriano is a great fit behind the cubs defense.
