  1. My friend sent me a text message asking who Gaudin was. "Nice!" I thought. I didn't even know Harden was involved. Wow. Wow. Wow.
  2. I have to congratulate that guy with cancer who called Jim Hendry the other day. It worked!
  3. Oh yeah? 2001 Pedro Martinez > 2008 C.C. Sabathia 2004 Johan Santana > 2008 Ben Sheets 2004 Oliver Perez > 2008 Jeff Suppan 2007 John Maine > 2008 Manny Parra 2008 Mike Pelfrey > 2008 Dave Bush It's quite clear to me.
  4. The Indians still have too much talent to "nuke it all". Cliff Lee is signed through 2009 with an option for 2010. If the Indians are in the same position this time next year, then maybe Cliff Lee will be moved, but not this year. CC was on his last year, and it was clear that they wouldnt be able to re sign him. Touche. I'd also be interested in Greinke if he's still on his meds. He probably wouldn't come cheaper than Burnett because of his low salary.
  5. I'm sure Derrek Lee would be worse too if he stopped eating meat. I'm more curious to see everyone break down the bullpens by individual players.
  6. I have an idea since the Indians are clearly in Nuke It All mode. How about we make an offer for Cliff Lee? Yeah, we'd be buying as high as possible but he's been a ground ball pitcher this year. He's due to regress a bit but he will probably end up in Ted Lilly range. I'd go to war in October with Zambrano/Cliff Lee/Lilly/Dempster.
  7. A 'insider' also told Will Carroll that, "The Cubs will react quickly to any trades made within the division."
  8. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=7761 Baseball Prospectus has an interesting nugget in their AL Rumblings at the bottom of the column. They said that the Rays are interested in Matt Murton. I would love to get my hands on one of their young pitchers. Who would you target?
  9. Don't know if this has been mentioned but it was clear that the Cardinals announcers didn't know Marshall's name. "Here comes the pitch from, uh, Mr. Lefthander." I wouldn't notice if it happened once or twice. This happened several times. It was like a guy in the morning trying to remember the name of his one night stand.
  10. I think Wellemeyer gave up 23 hits in hit last two starts. It's time to continue regressing that sucker to the mean.
  11. This Sports Illustrates article looks into pitching injuries: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/tom_verducci/07/01/lincecum0707/3.html They talk about Brownlie as well as Prior and friends.
  12. I've eaten crow all season. TruffleShuffle's avatar is my after picture.
  13. Pat and Ron discussed earlier how the coaching staff found a flaw in Marmol's delivery. They said he was crouched over too much and that they could fix the mechanics. Let's hope that's true.
  14. Patterson is certainly helping his trade value.
  15. Time for me to start rooting against the A's.
  16. Harang/Bedard > Marquis/Marshall
  17. Excellent call :D What do you sense on Big Z's MRI? "His shoulder is fine except there is some dye in it."
  18. Thanks! That's my second favorite graph of the year.
  19. I wanna see an embedded Fangraph! Please include Hawk and Wimpy's response to Wood's final K and the Aramis homer.
  20. DeRosa should hit one too to get his good name back.
  21. Does that home run render the previous 22 suicidal pages moot? Peyton Manning's boyfriend is good luck. Keep him in the booth!
