  1. $91.5 is a lot to guarantee to any pitcher. If the Cubs had to do it, I'm glad it's Z though.
  2. Pie does not look like a major league batter right now. I'm curious. What does everyone think his numbers will look like next year? I'd be happy with .270/.355/.420, 12 homers, 70 RBI and 25 steals. It all depends on where they bat him. Another overrated prospect. Kerry better start throwing strikes. haha give me a break What has Pie done that shows a guy that will live up to the hype? Seriously, please explain. Pie has plus speed and plays excellent defense. There's always a market for those skills alone. He also had over 50 extra base hits in the minors last year. There's pop in his bat and he'll only fill out as he gets older. I hope you guys are right. I have heard this a lot over the past few years and nobody ever is a Reyes, Braun, Wright, etc. The Cubs have developed plenty of good position players. You just don't remember them because the last one was almost 20 YEARS AGO! I don't think Pie will be a Hall of Famer. I'll be happy if he gets a couple All-Star Games. I think he'll be real useful to someone over his career.

  4. At least we won't have to face Tulowitzki again until 2008.

  6. Come on everyone, keep the faith. That's all that separates us from Mets fans! Except Mets fans' faith is often rewarded. I will say this: at least the Cubs never lost a potential dynasty to rampant cocaine abuse.
  7. To mock those of us earlier: 0.5? Thank you. This day is nowhere near over, let alone the season. Let's find out who the Milwaukee Brant Brown is. Let's see who our Neifi Perez (in Colorado) savior is.
  8. Come on everyone, keep the faith. That's all that separates us from Mets fans!
  9. Let's say the Cubs lose this game (which is far from over). That leaves us 2.5 back with about 49 games left to play. We play 3 directly against the Brewers. Our schedule is easy. We get Ramirez back in our next game. We made up 8.5 games in a month. I think we can make up 2.5 games in more time than that.
  10. Everyone take a deep breath. We're down 2 early in Coors Field with Johnny McScrub pitching. Let's see what he does the 2nd time through the order.
  11. Just stay close until that Brewers series. We can steal their souls then.
  12. I really hope the light comes on soon for Pie. Dunno - do the Orioles have anything the Cubs would like this go-around? He's lights out in AAA, but not so hot in the proverbial show. Change of scenery/less pressure perhaps? I'd trade Pie for Markakis but that's about it.
  13. At least Edwin Jackson will have a future home.
  14. Fontenot sure helped his zone rating with that play. If someone is bothering you, ignore them. It worked for you in 2nd grade.
  15. I love Murton because he was one of the best players on last year's team. He's not one of the best players on this year's team. He might get a chance to shine during Soriano's 'vacation'.
  16. Lou gets a kick out of lying to the fans. He wants 8 midgets that walk all the time. FALSE Murton is the team's starting LF. FALSE Wood will pitch today. FALSE Lou is a liar and a bad manager. This obviously is written by someone with very little knowledge of the game. The walk total is up. Sorianno is FAR superior to Murton Wood will get into a game, why was today so important to you? The Cubs won. As far as the most ignorant, laughable line by you, Lou is a terrific manager and far better at his job than most. A simple question for you, are you in high school? If so, I can excuse your post. I assumed Regulus Blue was joking. Or a huge Kerry Wood fan. We're all anxious. A weak portion of me half expects another Dave Dravecky occurence.
  17. I'm amazed how much Joe Buck talks about the Yankees during Cubs games. At least the Cardinals are in the same division. I've heard more about the Brewers from Dane Cook today.
  18. Two thirds of an inning equals .66666666.
  19. I'm still not sure how Dane Cook got famous but I don't mind his MLB commercials.
  20. Til the cows come home. I hope Hawk and Joe Buck end up calling the clinching game 4 of the Cubs championship.
  21. A redemption RBI single for Jacque Jones!
  22. I've never been so happy watching one of my fantasy pitchers get destroyed.
