  1. And shouldn’t cost much. Maybe he is an option. But won’t be for a while.
  2. Like I originally said, in today’s game, you are right. He has been steady. I also just realized, you missed a start he had in March. Would have made your argument even better. 6 innings and no runs. So now we are talking about 35 innings and 12 runs. Which, is very good. I honestly thought he was doing better. I was kind of surprised with the stats you showed. Based on revised stats, I agree with you he has also been a rock. And that said, IMO, there is more there with him that the Cubs will bring out.
  3. You are right, based on the game in 2026. But it is kind of funny to think a guy who has only gone 6 or more innings twice in his 5 starts with 2 games being quality starts is considered a rock and a guy who eats up innings. 12 earned runs in 29 innings is, IMO, not Cabrera at his best. I am hoping for more, and believe there is more there.
  4. Honestly, I’m not sure he is any better than Rea. But if they did sign him, Rea could have gone to the pen. Which helps the pen.
  5. Great. This is your opinion. But when someone has a different opinion that doesn’t mean it is dumb because you don’t agree with it. Busch very well could end up a better hitter than Mo by years end. But right now juggling the line up to get the hotter bat closer to the top of the line up, is not dumb. And, apparently Counsell agrees.
  6. Kind of wish they got Giolito. I doubt they make any kind of substantial deal until July. Steele news isn’t great, but we don’t yet know how bad it is. And they are working without him anyway. They may find an innings eating guy, but not sure how much that person would help. Didn’t they just let Valesquez go? He seems to be someone that would fit eating a few innings.
  7. Guess Counsell doesn’t agree with you. Mo moved up to 2nd and Busch dropped to 5th tonight.
  8. Huh, Mo to 2 and Busch dropped down to 5. Who would have ever thought that should happen? I think Bregman’s foot might be bothering him.
  9. I don’t think it is a ridiculous idea to switch Mo and Busch right now. Why not get the hitter hitter (right now) more AB. I’m not suggesting Busch get benched, but let’s not act like Counsell doesn't move guys up and down a line up. I don’t see anything wrong with flipping those two guys for now. As you said, get the “better hitter, more AB. At this time, Mo is the better hitter. I don’t agree it solved hitting with runner on or anything of that nature. It is just allowing Mo to hit higher up. At least for now that isn’t a terrible idea.
  10. I can without a doubt say he isn’t being released anytime soon.
  11. This is an excellent question. I like Busch and believe he will hit. But he isn’t right now. So why not flip him and Mo in the line up? At least for now, that makes a lot of sense.
  12. Bad decision. 100 agree. Challenging a ball call and being wrong makes him a selfish moron, couldn’t disagree more. It was just a mistake. And if any teammate of Boyd’s would be livid with him because of his challenge, to me that makes that player the selfish player. I am sure no one on this team was livid with Boyd for his bad decision.
  13. It contributed to the loss. It wasn’t the reason they lost. They didn’t get a hit after the 3rd inning. That is a problem. Padres made a lot of good plays. Cubs didn’t make any. Just not their night. It happens. Padres are a good team too.
  14. I agree Brown should have started the inning. Bad call. Pen is stretched, but Brown is rested. Why not let him give you 3 innings. All right handed Bats were coming up.
  15. To be clear, are you saying if a player challenges a pitch and is wrong that makes him selfish? Because that is all Boyd did. Again. Huge overreaction. Boyd is actually one of the best guys in the team. You are talking out of anger and being ridiculous. As I said, he made a mistake. He knew it right away. Doesn’t make him selfish or a moron.
  16. Dude, he made a mistake. He knew it as soon as he asked for the challenge. Doesn’t make him a moron unworthy of being on the teams. Relax!
  17. I didn’t think it would happen at all, except for an emergency. But it makes sense to do it with Boyd pitching. Maybe, had he not gotten hurt Mo would have caught sooner.
  18. Hate to be satisfied with a 2-4 trip. And I really think the pitching match ups are pretty good for the Cubs. I wouldn’t be upset only winning 1 here. But I would like 2 of 3.
  19. Did not realize they were that good in LA the last 3 years. I believe prior to that good stretch they were something like 4-15 at Dodger stadium since 2016. Not sure of the exact regular season record but it was bad. Still a very rough place and team to play. What they did in Sacramento and against the Angels last year is irrelevant to my comment. I did say tough to play “those two teams out West”, not any team out West.
  20. I think 12-2 might have something to do with it. Maybe just took him out🤷
  21. Yep, win the SD series and it is a great road trip. Tough to play these two teams out West.
  22. I think Assad goes down. He will be back, but he threw a lot of pitches. Probably won’t be available again for some time.
