  1. As time went on, maybe he should have tried out again. He should have never been let go in the first place. When he was first let go it was undeserved. You can spin it however you want, he should have been playing football for several more years and would have had the NFL and the president not made a big deal about it. Trump even said “get that son of a bitch off the field”. He is who made it an issue and the owners all filed in behind him. It ok to have men who committed domestic violence against a woman or worse, but don’t kneel for the anthem. That will get you banned. What a bunch of BS.
  2. So the NFL and the jackass leader of our country created the “situation” and Kapernick had to pay the price by being blackballed? Got it. Makes sense. Even if you didn’t think he was that good a QB, there is no way there were 60 better quarterbacks in football when he was being blackballed.
  3. Might not have gotten him because he backed up on the ball. He had to grab the short hop to get him, or even just step in third if he came in in the ball. WTF!!!!
  4. What he did should not have been a distraction. He should have never been asked to stop what he was doing. The NFL and the idiot in charge of our country at the time make it a distraction then tried making him the bad guy. He should have had a career after he knelt.
  5. Taillon is not very good against the Phillies. Happ 0-15 against Nola. Not so sure I like their chances. Pretty much a 50/50 game as far as I can tell.
  6. This would be my guess as well. But when Miller and Brasier come back, who goes down? Or do they have to release guys?
  7. I feel what Kiper thinks used to mean more than it does now. But glad he had them 7th. Maybe if you factor in they also got a 4th rd pick for next year the draft is a little better. But with Kiper at 7 and USA Today at 21 that puts the average at 14. Which is basically an average draft, or a C. Regardless of the rating, I don’t think it fell how they had hoped. I think Burden was a pick they couldn’t pass on, but not a need. I don’t think they expected that. I like the first 2 picks and then the CB they picked. I think he was great value there. Other than that, aside from their 4th rd pick, which is bad, the other picks were meh to me. Has they gotten a RB somewhere between the 2nd and 4th round and maybe a edge rusher there too, I would have felt better. I think they wasted a pick in rd 4. 🤷
  8. Kaepernick was good enough to be on a roster. What he did shouldn’t have been a distraction. I think he was a good QB of starting caliber, but even if you don’t agree with that, he was definitely worthy or having a job as a solid back up. He got blackballed because he dared to stand up for his belief. Tebow sucked, period. He didn’t deserve a roster spot.
  9. While a C- may have been an overreaction, I still don’t like some of the picks they made. I think the overall grade goes up some because of Loveland and Burden. Those were very good choices. The other guys in rd 2 are ok, but I think they could have probably gotten an OT similar to Trapilo in the 3rd round. (Maybe even him at 72) And I would have rather just taken the edge rusher at 41 instead of Turner when they got him. Really do not like the 4th rd pick at all. I do like the CB they got late. I agree with gflore that guys got picked right before them and that threw the draft off a little. Had Henderson been there at 41 I think they take him. Had Skattebo been there at 109 I think they take him. Things did not fall great for them. I also think Caleb Johnson was an option, but the Bears pick never lined up right to pick him. As I said, C- might be a bit low, but I don’t think it was much better than average. For those people suggesting all the grade outlets have the Bears, remember most outlets don’t score much worse than B-. USA Today ranked the bears at B- and 21st best draft. In my world 21st out of 32 is not B-.
  10. That might have happened in rd 4 too, with Skattebo. He went a few picks before their pick and they moved back again. Don’t like this draft, at all. C-
  11. I hate this draft aside from the receiver in rd 2. WTF are they doing?
  12. Not a fan of the trade back. Don’t really like the guys they took there either. I think the OT could have been there at 72. So right now they traded the 41st pick where they could have gotten an edge rusher (BC edge) for the DT they took from A&M. This pick better be good at 109. Skattebo would be good here. Or Henderson. I think they need a back here.
  13. Didn’t know about the baggage. That explains why he is there. So now I don’t want him either. Go with the BC edge rusher instead.
  14. For me an ideal day 2 would be Ezeiruaku or Green at 39. Henderson at 41, Ersery in the 3rd round.
  15. If the plan is only for this year, maybe they do see about him. But he is not the long term answer. I still believe in Shaw.
  16. I am not sure Turner can play 3rd base on a semi regular basis. I am way more worried about his defense than I am his bat, especially if his bat only has to be better than Berti/Lopez/Brujan.
  17. Sadly, I very much can see Poles doing this.
  18. This. If he is there at 10, great. But I don’t want him if the Bears lose a 2nd rd pick to switch spots in rd one and get him.
  19. I don’t disagree with that either. However, the Brewers talent level is average to slightly above average. Cubs might not beat them, but they should. They are not on par with the NL west teams they have faced.
  20. Brewers might be under 500 when we play them. And even if they are not, they are not in the same class as who we have okayed. I know the Giants have a good record, but I don’t consider them that level either. The Mets are very good. Giants average but playing well and Brewers average, IMO.
  21. Seems a bit extreme, doesn’t it. Or do you know something more about his wrist?
  22. Like to see Hoerner moved up to 2nd, Tucker 3rd and Turner at 6 or 7. But it is going to be Turner just taking Suzuki’s spot🤮
  23. I agree. But even if they do that doesn’t mean he signs. He may test free agency no matter what they offer.
  24. Michael Fulmer signed. There is no end to Jed and Carter’s dumpster diving. Maybe they get lucky with someone🤷
  25. What happens with Workman? Does he have to be offered back to Tigers?
