@Rcal10@Jason Ross I agree that it won't happen now, but come July that's a very intriguing name IMO. Controllable thru next season and he gets paid less AAV than Boyd. Pretty much a cost controlled Boyd replacement for next season too.
I've always wanted to check out that beautiful stadium in SF.
I live pretty close to Wrigley, and the ticket prices drop significantly around 10-15 minutes before game time. I take full advantage of it 😂
The Reds stink, and their -23 run differential proves it.
That's what happens when you've fielded basically the same exact roster for 3 seasons in a row, and the rare big moves they've made, they chose Eugenio Suarez and Ke'Bryan Hayes 😂
OT but kinda Cubs relevant: Joe Ryan left his start yesterday in the first inning with either a forearm or elbow injury. I've seen his name come up in July trade ideas. Unfortunately wouldn't surprise me if his injury is serious the way he reacted.
And way way more contact.
What's super impressive to me is that this kid never got the boot back to Iowa last year or this year... Baez got demoted, Rizzo got demoted, Schwarber got demoted. He's here to stay. There has never been a moment where I've thought that he looks overmatched at the MLB level.
Seiya Suzuki has the 11th highest WRC+ among all outfielders since he joined the major leagues in 2022. His rookie year was the only season where he posted an OPS+ under 130. He's improved in every season since then, offensively and defensively.
He deserves an extension this summer.
It's a shame that Shota fell off a cliff the 2nd half of last year, and the Cubs decided not to opt into his remaining 3 years.
That contract is peanuts relative to his performance. He's pitching like an ace.
