  1. 100%. He makes the lineup way better. Frankly, i dont give a damn if he doesnt want to DH exclusively. Hes under contract and thats where he fits best on the roster. If we sign Bregman, trading Nico isnt off the table for me but id still like to keep him and ease Shaw in as the supersub. There are more than enough ABs to go around.
  2. I got high hopes for Eli Lovich this year and I would love to see Wiggins take a strong step forward and solidify himself as a top tier prospect.
  3. I dont think the Cubs need Bregman but id gladly take him. I just really dont want it to take us out of a potential Kyle Tucker extension.
  4. I think he is banking big on Horton, Wicks and Birdsell having big impacts this year. I think hes been ok on pitching. I like the collective group of arms hes aquired but my biggest gripe is that he has never aquired a true ace.
  5. Thats way too much for one year of Cease. No thanks
  6. After the Pressley trade, i'm pretty comfortable with our bullpen but I'm terrified of the bench right now though. I think its pretty obvious they want to leave spots open for young guys like Mo Baller, Cassie and Alcantara to win in the long run but my god our bench is atrocious right now.
  7. They probably were. Jed probably juat refused to budge from his number making it incrediblt easy for the Dodgers to swoop in and sign him
  8. This league is a horsefeathers joke right now. And somehow Jed, who managed to finally get a super star player is an even bigger joke. Cant wait to land another "reclamation reliever" with a 6.5 ERA in AAA with good spin rates
  9. The salary cap stuff, I can go back and forth on. What the league really needs right now is a salary floor. So many teams can be spending more money and they dont.
  10. Damn that jacket is awesome.
  11. This is how the MLB is soft launching the return of the Montreal Expos for the next expansion
  12. I like them a lot. Love the return of the powder blue from the 70's. So much better than the ugly Wrigleyville ones
  13. Tomas really intrigues me. Big kid with plenty of room to grow
  14. The whole thing waa a farce anyway to avoid the rumors of a handshake deal already in place with the Dodgers, which everyone already knows is true.
  15. I'm really excited to see how Fernando Cruz does stateside after an offseason of work. I'm hoping one of him or Valdez can really breakout as a top 100 guy.
  16. I read a report somewhere that Sasaki will make his decision on the 20th. He has to sign by the 23rd as you stated.
  17. I'd give up Triantos and Assad for Luzardo. No to Cassie though. I'm a Luzardo fan but Cassie is too much imo.
  18. True. Harper came back pretty quickly too. Mathis is a really interesting prospect if he can be a 1b/3b/DH prospect. Same with Long. Hoping for a Mathis breakout similar to Long this year,
  19. Isnt Mathis more of a 1B/DH type though? Does he have the arm for 3rd? Is he going to be healthy to start the year after TJS? Havent really seen much about his recovery.
  20. Adding Tucker and moving Parades makes me sour on trading Nico now. I'd like to keep him for this season at least now that Shaw has a path to playing time at 3B.
  21. I firmly believe if Shaw shows up in ST he makes the team opening day. Counsell has a track record of letting the young guys play and take their beatings. He did with Busch and PCA this year and he was known for it in Milwaukee too. Thats one of the reasons we are paying him so much. I expect Shaw will get the same considerations to work through his issues in the MLB. Some combo of Rojas, Moncada and Workman (if he stays) seems like a good bench counterpart for him to shield him from tough matchups.
  22. We need another bullpen anchor too imo. Im a Porter Hodge believer but i want some competition for him
  23. Would be awesome. Big fan of his
  24. We have an elite bat. Finally! At least for next year
