  1. It's correct logic. Pitchers are babied far too much now a days. Not a single one of these guys was overused this season and they still got hurt. That's his argument. Injuries will always happen to pitchers. The human arm isnt supposed to be able to throw 95 mph. It's why pitching depth is so important. Shota throwing an extra 25-30 pitches isnt going to hurt him as he will inevitably get hurt as is the nature of pitchers.
  2. It all because of this analytics horsefeathers. I'm not even an anti data guy. There is a lot of value to it. But its really testing my patience. Steele: 128 IP Brown: 55.1 IP Wicks: 33 IP Alzolay: 17.1 IP Little 26 IP Horton: 34.1 IP None of them pitched too much this year.
  3. horsefeathers Counsell. This a meaningless game. Let him go for it.
  4. So Jed took a free vacation to Japan again?
  5. Time to close the book on this team. Just an absolute dumpster fire of a season.
  6. Always love taking out the starter when hes pitching a great game due to "pitch counts"
  7. I assume this will be his last game in A ball since they have an off day tomorrow
  8. Its so unique. I cant really recall any pitcher ive seen that has that sort of arm action
  9. He's solidly in the 10-15 range for me. We were probably too hyped up on originally while at the same time being too hard on him. To be honest, I never soured on him due to his age but a bunch of better prospects just passed him up due to being more advanced in their development.
  10. Fair enough. He's an interesting BOTR guy to me at this point
  11. Why has Connor Noland not been getting more hype? I know he's not an overpowering arm or anything but he's had a great season
  12. I recall really liking the pick back when he was drafted but I honestly forgot about him until people started talking about him the past few weeks. Thanks for the info.
  13. What am I missing here with Hearn? He looks like a future org depth catcher to me.
  14. I understand that perspective. I just think he needs another offseason in the weight room and maybe a half year at AAA? To be honest, I think him repeating AAA wouldn't be a bad idea. Overall he's held his own while being almost 5 years younger than the average age. I'd call that a successful season imo.
  15. Damn I like that LHH Pat Burrell comp for Cassie a lot. I think he's had a great season. We just need to see some more in game power imo.
  16. I want Killian in the bullpen. Wicks is probably the next guy you're right there. Birdsell and Noland arent far off either imo
  17. He originally went on a the DL for a lat strain. During his rehab he had a setback which is where the subscapularis strain happened. Sucks but it is what it is. It's the reason we constantly need to be drafting and developing pitchers. Horton is probably the only pitcher we have that I would consider to have ace stuff and im still highly optimistic about his future here. But after him its not like pitching in the system is complete horsefeathers. Birdsell and Noland look like promising young arms for the future. Wiggins has been coming around. Wicks should be back soon. I like where our pitching depth is right now. Plus we will be supplementing it in free agency as well after Hendricks leaves. Its probably smarter to just shut him down for the season and go into 2025 with a May or June debut on the horizon if AAA goes well to start the year. I hope its not surgery and i havent seen any indication of that. Seems just like a setback to me.
  18. Not to mention hes done this every year or at every new level. He always starts off god awful and then proceeds to adjust and go on a tear. I really agree with Keith Laws assessment of him.
  19. Edit wrong thread
  20. cant ever be easy. not even against a historically bad team,
  21. Sox really should either just shift Crochet to the bullpen for the rest of the year or shut him down. He doesnt look the same to me. His slider doesnt seem to have any bite
  22. I really hope we just absolutely dominate the Sox. Having an exhausting time against them would be infuriating
