  1. Was wondering what was going on with him.
  2. If Jed doesnt match every single Soto offer no matter what the incentives are I will be pissed. If we lose but matched every aspect of the contract and he just wanted to be elsewhere I can forgive that
  3. hell just put him in AAA already and see what we got lol
  4. Literally have never read or heard this name at all lol.
  5. he has too right? I mean I guess he gets on base ok?
  6. Is that really too much to ask? Personally I'd prefer 2023 Jackson Holliday numbers
  7. Law is definitely the biggest believer in his upside I think but he tends to favor ceiling over floor in his rankings. In his midseason update he had him at 27. "Alcántara has held steady this year as a 21-year-old (by his seasonal age) in Double A, keeping his strikeout rate low for a 6-6 hitter and making hard contact without a ton of game power yet, with plenty of projection remaining on his frame. He just turned 22 last week, so he’s right on track with college juniors drafted last year, a large number of whom are in Double A as well, but offers a wider range of potential outcomes with first-round upside if he keeps the contact rate steady as he fills out."
  8. I dont even think Robert is declining. I think he is mentally checked out and just doesnt care right now. I think hes still the same player. The Sox should have traded him at the deadline because he tanks his value for them everyday hes out there during this season for the Sox.
  9. I know. That comment was meant to be more tongue in cheek haha. Alcantara out of all our prospects is the guy I can see reaching that HoF level, if he hits his ceiling. The tools are all there for a superstar if everything comes together, a Mike Cameron esque player would be a top tier outcome. One name I was thinking about that came to mind the other day was Alex Rios. I'd like to hope Alcantara would have more power than him in the long run but we know that the chances of players hitting their ceiling is a long shot considering how tough the sport is.
  10. I never realized how solid of a player Mike Cameron was in his career. Lots of great season from age 25-36. I'd take that outcome from Alcantara. I'm greedy and am praying for the 99th percentile outcome though.
  11. Hope this is a good series. Royce Lewis is a really exciting player to watch. Saw him play in person earlier this year at a Twins game. Effortless power.
  12. Alcantara has superstar written all over him if he hits his ceiling. He's so incredibly raw though. Another offseason in the weight room and I think were gonna really see the power numbers explode.
  13. I still kinda think the NL Central is up for grabs. Yelich's injury is big for Milwaukee. I'm not saying the Cubs are competitive but I wouldn't be surprised if any team in the central outside of Milwaukee got hot for the last 2 months and won the division. This division is spectacularly average right now.
  14. you are probably right but I like to believe there is some merit psychologically in a reward for the work of a well played season from an up and coming prospect. I do see your point though. The fact that they have to add him is why I think it happens. I think hes first man up as we get later into the season if an injury occurs.
  15. Bout time. Get Alcantara's struggles at a new level starting early. If I recall though he played really well at the promotion to AA last year. He seems to struggle a lot in cold weather. Next years squad is so stacked at Iowa. I'm assuming Cassie gets a cup of coffee this year since we have to add him to the 40 man but having a lineup with Cassie, KA, Shaw, Triantos, and MB is going be fun
  16. He's done nothing that Bellinger doesn't do out there. And Bellinger actually hits the ball.
  17. And that's the game. Lose it because of PCAs dumb ass cockiness. So far I've seen none of this supposed elite defense.
  18. Nico literally under the fly ball and he calls him off it wtf
  19. Very first Cubs game was in 97 and still recall watching Ryno warm up in the on deck circle with my Dad. He was probably the first player I can recall truly liking. Then it was Sosa. Was also a huge Kerry Wood fan and I loved watching Mark Prior in 03. Arrieta, Javy and KB were my guys in the Theo era. Current team, I like Happ quite a bit and Steele.
  20. I am surprised but I'm cool with keeping Tauchman as our fourth OF. Not like the return would be very much and he can still help us win games now, even though a WC spot is not likely
  21. Make sure you guys all keep getting monthly cardiovascular checkups for his games during the season
