    i am treebird here’s tomorrow’s gam thread i can’t be bothered to stay up to watch these losers bat in the ninth be sure to watch this game if you hate yourself and want to punch yourself in the face but your arms are too short. otherwise i have no idea why you would watch q is the butt emoticon because his name was already shortened to q and i couldn’t think of any other ways to shorten his name as punishment for being bad ps nachos

    I attempted to change my avatar recently and got endless error messages whether I tried to upload or hotlink to another site. It was honestly pretty infuriating, but I am a nice guy so I simply wished ill upon Tim and have not yet acted on my true feelings.

    one time when i was in high school i hit a ball into the left field corner and when i got to second i saw there was nobody at third. i was instantly thrilled about how smart i was for being the good baserunner who noticed things like that so i ran to third. the third baseman who was out in shallow left field immediately saw what i was doing and jogged back to the bag and i was out by 20 feet and my coach took me out of the game for being an idiot. i can’t even imagine what it must feel like to see stuff like that and be right.

    Does this mean this Thursday, as in the makeup game against the Braves? Sure wouldn't mind pushing Q back one more day......the barves kill lefties, really hoping we don't see those guys in the playoffs. the cubs don’t play little league teams so i’m not sure what possibly favorable matchup we’re going to find for quintana

    I don't think there will be many games with a righty on the mound and Bote starting with Murphy sitting. I think about half assuming Bote keeps it up (quite an assumption, I know) When Bryant returns, Bryant (as often as he's able), Heyward, Rizzo and Baez start everyday. That means you have 3 spots for Schwarber, Almora, Happ, Zobrist, Bote and Murphy. I'd say Zobrist, Schwarber, and Bote are your 3 most days. have you watched any cubs games since the walkoff grand slam? bote hasn’t played that much and has been terrible.

    The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight. WERE WE EVER SO YOUNG?

    pitchers ever doing worse than expected should never be a huge shock. we were on the good end of randomness for a while, and now we are on the bad end. it sucks, but the main takeaway should always be thank you baseball gods for making the pitching do stuff right long enough to let us win once.

    RBIs aren't dumb. Comparing players based on them is. I want my middle order hitters to rack up 120ish RBIs. I believe the whole "RBI's are dumb" is a mantra that's way overdone. Like virtually any other stat it just needs to be examined in the proper context. Looking at any stat in isolation is a recipe for mis-evaluation. the only context in which rbis matter is one in which you remove rbis and look at other stats instead

    Maybe. Maybe not. There is a dangerous precedent being set where people are jumping to conclusions without the full context. While some of these people may be genuinely bad guys, I don't think it is fair or productive to keep digging through everyone's past for any sign of a potentially offensive remark. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk It's really nice of you to look at it from the perspective of those unfairly maligned baseball players. While worrying about dangerous precedent, you might want consider what it's like for someone who is gay or a racial minority to see these slurs. but what about the great context around those slurs such as um well let me think one sec ok maybe he was performing in a play on twitter and those were his lines wow you hate art

    I don't understand why anyone is throwing anything in the zone to him at all right now. i feel like this is low-key like the peak of the lester being unable to throw to bases situation. no matter what the scouting report says, it’s just too weird and different to run to the next base when the pitcher is holding the ball and looking at you, or to throw every pitch like it is 0-2 regardless of the count.
