  1. There could be a few coach openings this year: Already open: Jacksonville Buffalo LA San Diego ((McCoy has been fired) SF Denver (Kubiak is retiring due to health concerns) Probably open: Indianapolis (Pagano is probably out, Irsay is not happy with team) Could be open: New Orleans (may trade Payton, Rams are a strong possibility) Could be open, but probably won't: Arizona (Rumored that health concerns would force Arians to retire, but it sounds like he will be back. Houston (1-and-done playoffs may get O'Brien fired) Carolina (Riviera rumored to be on LA's radar, but not likely) Chicago (not likely, but still possible) New York Jets (same as Bears) *Updated to move SF, SD, and Denver into openings.
  2. 3 yr at $20m per with a 4th year option of $20m or a $5m buyout. So $65m/3yrs or $80m/4.
  3. Archer I would pay for. Odorizzi I would take as part of a package with Colome and I would prefer to not include Baez/Almora if that's the case. Smyly/Cobb + Colome would only be ok if it's for a lesser package - Soler/Candelario/lesser prospects
  4. Smyly seems like an ideal move to RP candidate: 2016: First time through order: K/9: 10.52 BB/9: 2.63 3.05 ERA/ 3.29 FIP Second time: K/9: 7.76 BB/9: 2.15 6.18ERA, 5.35 FIP His career numbers are pretty similar.
  5. The guys at MLBTR are predicting Fowler to get a 4 yr, $62mm deal. I would be fine with him at that price, even a little more. A. His skill set is not likely to significantly decline, even if he regresses a little he would still be good B. It would allow Heyward to stay in right, and keep a solid defensive outfield even with Schwarber in left. C. It would lock down the top half of the order for the next four years (Fowler, Schwarber, Bryant, Rizzo; with Zob being in the 5th spot for the time being, but Contreras, Heyward, Russell able to move in as they develop/bounce back) D. It would allow the Cubs to move Soler/Almora etc for a pitcher/pitchers
  6. Vance Law Hector Villanueva John Leiber Mike Bielecki Rick Wilkins Too many to count. Randall Simon Tom Goodwin Doug Glanville Troy O'Leary Mike Remlinger Mark Guthrie Rod Beck
  7. Alright, now to the hospital for the multiple heart attacks I've probably had.
  8. Of course we've gotta have 1 more 2 out [expletive] happen.
  9. Carl Edwards Jr. 25 years old 48th round draft pick Rookie Is pitching for the save in the bottom of the 10th of game 7 of the World Series. And is 1 out away. [expletive] I'm shaking.
  10. I really want Miggy to be 2 for 12 with 2 grand slams. But a fly ball or a hit or a walk would be great.
  11. Alright, they're walking Russell to bring up Montero. Time for his second grand slam.
  12. I don't understand going to somebody who hasn't been a reliever like that. Go to wood or Montgomery then bring in Lester.
  13. Jesus Christ Strop, through horsefeathering strikes. And fat horsefeathers Joe West needs to make the game about him again.
  14. 6-1-1 after starting 0-2.
  15. Even healthy he would've probably been out, he's not that fast anyways.
  16. The Cubs will win the next 3 and win in 6. Because that's what it seems to take for Chicago teams to win this decade... well, the only other team to win won all their series in game 6.
  17. I would assume so. They don't really have another starter worth sending and that way they can use him in game 7 if it gets that far.
  18. I don't get why hitters aren't allowed to appeal if catchers can.
  19. There's a guy I used to know on Facebook who complains every time Strop is brought in. It takes a lot to not respond.
