  1. These next 12 games imo is big for the Cubs and could pretty much let us know if September baseball could be meaningful. If they can keep the good momentum going, play over 500 ball these next 12 and stay within striking distance for a WC spot, theyll have 10 more series to play and just 3 tough teams in Yankees, Dodgers back to back and Phillies second to last series. Gotta win series and avoid any 3+ games losing streaks.
  2. Waiting til later in game so the pitchers will have less opportunity to give it all back 😅😏
  3. Cubs look like they were up early watching Soccer and drinking some beer to celebrate 😅😅😅
  4. Cubs got one more homerun coming from them, hopefully with guys on base.
  5. Not saying they didn't have good appearances from others, it's just that Leiter was basically their guy in the 7th and 8th inning to hold the lead and in July he had 7 appearances 7.2 IP for them and didn't give up a run. He also didn't give up any hits or walks, so yea he was one of the biggest reason for that success.
  6. They don't have Leiter anymore who was probably the biggest part of that stat, we'll see I guess
  7. Sox have all the momentum now and Cubs don't exactly have shutdown relievers, this could be a how to blow a 7 run lead to the worse team in baseball night.
  8. If Crochet has been laboring his last few starts, if Sox are smart they should shut the kid down for the season. There's like 8 more starts left for him, They be better off saving him for next season. The most he's thrown was 50 innings in relief 3 seasons ago and he's more then doubled that now.
  9. That how they tend to lose quire a few games, score a bunch early then go cold while the other team chips away.
  10. Just about any ball that reaches the wall between right field line and left center is gonna be a triple for PCA... Too bad the guys hitting behind him can't make any contact 🤦‍♂️
  11. Looks like a decent pickup for the bullpen, need to limit the walks.
  12. Nah, I won't get excited again this season unless they get back over 500 and pass the Pirates and Cardinals for the last WC spot.
  13. I'm hoping Marquee will soon decide to redo the booth and just go with two people the whole season.
  14. All it took was getting to August, adding Bethencourt, and turning into the Motorola Cubs to start winning 🤷‍♂️😅
  15. I recorded it, ill watch after the game
  16. Be nice but you know deep down that won't happen, especially if Hoyer still here this offseason. A new POBO might look to make that splash but Hoyer is likely looking to build up from within again.
  17. Alcantara and Shaw got their first Iowa hits tonight, and Caissie hit his 12th HR.. Gonna be interesting to see what Hoyer does when these guys are ready to make their jump next season .
  18. Busch and Paredes are nothing special, they both may go on a little streak for a few games here and there but for the most part they won't provide much with the bat. I'd like to see these guys succeed at a strong level because they're young and cost controlled for a few years but I just don't see them being anything special right now.
  19. He hurting, but should be in lineup tomorrow
  20. I guess 1 season and 2 months is long 🤷‍♂️🤔 I seriously hope he can turn it around for the cubs sake and hit like he did last season.
