  1. Happ Avg is down to 216, Swanson only 8 behind him now at 208 🙄 Edit: 5 behind now... 211
  2. Cant trust this bullpen, no matter who on the mound
  3. Nice job by Boyd tonight Get it done now bullpen
  4. Give Bregman that RBI, he needs as many as he can get now..lol
  5. Boyd went to another level to get out of that inning
  6. I wish they had the younger Berkman over Bregman 😅
  7. Busch needs to have himself a 10 homerun month in July
  8. Bregman with a 2 out RBI Miracles do happen 😅
  9. Well, then like I had said , my thoughts can change after the deadline and in August.
  10. That was awesome, but dont think if those same pitching match ups happened again in the NLDS, we'll get the same outcome.
  11. I think teams that feel theyre that guy away from getting to the WS may make that move
  12. AAA pitchers and a bullpen game going up against a team top 2 starters in a playoff series is highly unlikely to have a good outcome 9 out of 10 times. How many guys are they going to replace ? How many of their top prospects are you willing to trade away ?
  13. Hes definitely a nap guy, gets up last minute, throws his clothes on, pulls into a drive thru to get a burger, takes a dump, then head to the booth kind of guy 😅😅😅😅
  14. Will AAA pitchers and bullpen games be enough in a playoff series ? Unlikely, especially the NLDS Not saying they shouldn't try, just dont have that confidence in this roster, particularly the overall pitching to get it done. Can that change, of course, but today, im not feeling it.
  15. Yes, As of now, that how I see this team, pretty much playing even baseball. Obviously that can change with what they do at the deadline and if some of the current players that had a meh first half play better.
  16. I'd be shocked if they caught the Brewers now, both have 72 games left to play, if the Brewers play 500 and go 36-36, im not sure right now, the Cubs can go 44-28 to pass them. Hopefully by August 31st when they meet up at WF for a 4 game series, things will be different
  17. I dont think im the only one on this site or in cubs fandom that feels they dont have enough to get deep into the postseason, it wouldn't be a see I was right moment, cause its really not expected of them now. The second half can be a different story for them of course, they may make the right additions at the deadline with guys that will help win a bunch of games, and players that had a blah first half may actually play up to their expectations. They have 72 games left, right now im only confidence in them winning half, hopefully after the deadline and seeing how some of these guys play the rest of July into August, that changes for the better.
  18. True, but so much will need to go right for them with such little life in that pitching staff
  19. Won't happen but this would be a perfect offseason for a new top guy to come in and create a new type of roster for them. Theyll have a bunch of money coming off the book, and tradable assets via prospects and current players on the roster.
  20. Im kind of on the fench right now as to whether or not I think going out and trading any of their top prospects this deadline would be worthwhile for this season. They are far more away from being a WS contender, or maybe even just getting to the NLCS then just 1 really good SP and Bullpen arm. Seriously, how much confidence do you have in the others (Taillon, Boyd, Rea, Peterson) to get the job done to help get them there? Outside of Imanaga that can get to the 6th, the others barely get you 5 innings. Then theres the bullpen... You have to hold your breath every time one enters a close game because you have little or no confidence in them to get it done, and it feels like a miracle if they actually have a clean inning(lol). Because of the poor SP, they have to count on these guys for 4 plus innings just about every game, along with the offense that like jeckyll and Hyde every series, to put up 5+ runs. Not saying it wont help, just not sure itll be enough to get them to the WS, which is the goal.
