  1. Yea, theres no need to panick now. Scoreboard watching dont start til August and this team roster wise will or should look a little bit different come then. Considering what they went through the first 3 months with the SP, entering July first in first place no matter the lead amount if definitely a positive. 12 games to go before the break, just stay on top and hopefully Hoyer will start making some positive additions and subtraction to the roster afterwards and then take care of buisness the final 2 months.
  2. Absolutely, im old school when it comes to the bench. Give me Thad Bosley, Richie Hebner, Lenny Harris i can go on and on 😅😅 Now and mainly cause of DH and a million relievers cause starters are only asked to go 6 innings, like you said it versatility guys and guys who can run fast. My favorite Cubs bench was 1984s
  3. I predicted a Taillon QS, fell an inning short and a 4-2 win 🤷‍♂️
  4. Ehhhh..lol I mean if it was just between having him or Brujan It like asking if you wanna be punched on the right side or left side of your face 😅☹️
  5. Yep, why i always advocate for better bench players when needed. Not looking for AllStars, just having a couple guys that can be reliable enough to be counted on when their opportunity comes.
  6. Happ with a i need to go home and do my podcast type of AB there 🙄🙄
  7. That AB was predictable... Come on Happ, do something today
  8. Lmao, Brujan in to PH. They scared now Damn Busch, just a single would of been good there
  9. Ok, here we go, got a break with Nico ball, let cash in. Here's the difference, Astros manager not pressing his luck here and pulling Valdez and hes been dominating today.
  10. Im sure we'd be reading complaints had a pen arm gave up the runs. Just saying CC and Hottovy should of had that planned ahead of time with him already in the 90s pitches. no matter who was up which was actually Paredes after a leadoff single. Ok, he pressed it and let him get Paredes and he flied out to RF, but then he hit the press your luck button again with Meyers and got lucky again, doing it a third time, he was just asking for that Whammy 😅
  11. Just gotta keep them at 2 and just hope they can score eventually, it only takes 1 baserunner and a deep one.
  12. You give him 1 baserunner and dont press your luck and I mentioned that before the HR.
  13. Cubs hitters are ready to leave Houston They dont want no part of Valdez today
  14. Yep, knew it would happen Why let him face the top of order again and being over 100 pitches. CC played press your luck and got Whammied Dumb
  15. Yep, they just up there swinging at anything close to the plate.
  16. Taillon last inning, question is will he finish and finish without giving up a run.
  17. Getting guys in scoring position, gotta start cashing them in
  18. Taillon gonna shock us all today and have a QS. Bats will do just enough to get this W 4-2 Cubs
  19. This is type of deal where Hoyer needs to be creative and make it like hes doing the Pirates a favor by taking Keller with a Bednar trade, who would be a great addition to the bullpen. Keller would be good to help keep the work load off of Horton in September and actually they could just shut Horton down for the season then. Also, this cannot end up being the only SP they get cause they definitely need another top guy to go with Imanaga and Boyd.
  20. Yea, Brewers just find a way to be a gnat in that division. Cubs just need to beat them head to head, hope the remaining games on schedule evens out at worse.
  21. If Tucker is not resigned, then this is where I can see the direction Hoyer and especially a new POBO if Hoyer doesn't return go. I think we'll likely see them request trade approval by one or both of Happ and Suzuki in offseason and next year deadline in their final contract year, and others. They will then bring up their prospects like Caissie, Alcantara, Ballesteros, etc. to play the 2026 season. Obviously with the unknown of 2027 because of a potential stoppage, that could be the potential plan IF Tucker doesn't return.
