  1. Wisdom playing the last 3 days, wonder if that might of been his goodbye games with Iowa ending their season today, maybe we see some releases and callups tomorrow or Monday.
  2. Hendricks last start as a Cub will be at home next week against the Reds. Hope he gets a tremendous ovation
  3. Gotta love the September surge against teams out of race to get your hitting numbers up to respectable 😅
  4. Couple things here.. I didn't say I wanted him traded or he definitely will be, my OP was in response to a poster not liking him in the 4 hole and I just said that he could be the odd man out if Bellinger returns. As in, it may not be a situation next season. I just feel that if Hoyer wants to add a significant top line bat and does make a trade with an everyday regular to get something of value in return like a SP or a plus reliever, it'll likely be one of Happ or Suzuki, whomever would be willing to waive their NTC. Another thing, I don't care for it, but I personally feel Hoyer going to return everyone from the regulars we have seen playing everyday the last 2 months and any new additions to the offense will be to the bench. His main focus or at least we hope so will be on the bullpen and SP/depth
  5. I wasn't thinking of the NTC but it not like players with NTC hasn't waived it and agreed to being traded. All I'm saying is there's a chance that an outfielder can be traded this offseason and IMO I think it could be Suzuki or Happ despite the NTC. Bellinger 27 mil and his opt out after 2025 will likely lessen any real good return for him in a deal, especially if they're looking for pitching. They're not gonna trade Busch, who has improved and is 26 and under team control the next 5 seasons. Nico, they can but I doubt Hoyer will move him and his team friendly contract. Parades is an option Suzuki has 2 years left on his deal when he will be 31, I doubt they look to extend him. Same with Happ. If Hoyer can get them to agree to waive, he will make that deal. This is the only way they'll consider bringing in that big bat that needed in the lineup.
  6. It either Suzuki or Happ that going to be moved if Bellinger returns and.... A. They plan on bringing in a plus bat B. If Caissie is expected to join them next season Unless of course Hoyer just returns everyone and hopes for the best again. We talk about how they need to add a plus bat or two to the lineup but balk at moving guys to make room for them.
  7. He could be the odd man out if Bellinger returns.
  8. Also joined the 50/50 club in which he is the only member
  9. Spotrac has them a million plus under still, who has them over ?
  10. Tigers are making a run for a WC spot AL central can have 3 teams in postseason, and have 4 of top 7 in AL best record. Fun to be able to beat up on the Whitesox 😅
  11. But I bet the over 84.5 😆 I also bet over Bellinger hitting 24 HRs and Cubs making playoffs. So, they were doomed from the start..lol
  12. Shows where my interest level is at now, I forgot the game was on 🤷‍♂️😆
  13. Yea, I don't get it, especially so early in game.
  14. I think the two prospects of the top 4 position players they'll likely trade may be Alcantara and Ballesteros. Caissie and Shaw are likely their guys they want as everyday players, when thatll start is the question. Why if they are looking to add a big bat or two in offseason for the lineup, somebody gotta go, especially if Bellinger returns.
  15. Cubs hitting them hard but not out, As hitting them out.
  16. I agree it not an easy fine but we've seen them go with guys in house and add arms on the cheap and it hasn't worked out well for a whole season. They definitely need a closer, not sure if that guy is in house. Maybe Hodge but I like him more as a setup guy, I don't know how they find a closer and a solid lefty, just know that a priority for them this offseason
  17. Yes they can use a big bat or two but with a few prospects about ready and everyone in the regular lineup all under contract/control, they don't have any openings unless they make trades. I chose pitching because that where they need the most attention. They need a closer, and probably a couple solid bullpen arms, especially one from the left side. The rotation could use a solid TOR guy to go with Imanaga and Steele.
  18. Say Bellinger opts in, that'll give them ... Bellinger, Happ, Suzuki, PCA, Tauchman, Caissie, and Alcantara for the outfield/DH. Assuming they don't go after any special FA outfielder (Soto). Busch, Hoerner, Swanson, Paredes, and Shaw for the infield/DH Almora, Bethencourt, and Ballesteros for C Are we really going to see the same 9 guys next season in lineup? How close are Caissie, Shaw, and Alcantara to becoming everyday players? Who will Hoyer look to hold or move in a deal for pitching upgrade ? Should be a very active and interesting offseason for Hoyer
  19. Can you imagine Sutcliffe and Grace in the booth with Boog
  20. Cubs will win by 10 today, because it the Cub way 🤷‍♂️
  21. Wonder if Hoyer decides it's time to DFA a couple players and bring up some prospects to play out the season.
