  1. That actually the first pca homerun I've seen, I missed his others 🤷‍♂️ Back to Back Jacks Amaya
  2. I have to doubt very much that owners would be ok with this, let alone the players union. can you imagine their big money SP is getting hit early and has to throw way over 100 pitches to get through the 6th inning. Any of their starters for that matter, we'll e seeing alot of blowouts and high scoring games throughout the season. Also there would be no more opener, what would be the point if he has to go 6 innings. Just leave it alone
  3. Right, you'd think they would do these in prime hours for more viewers .
  4. Just noticed they can subtract another 26 mil off that payroll just by not picking up options on Bote, Smyly, and Neris and that'll get them approximately 157 mil under the TT going into the offseason.
  5. Who would they wave that would actually get claimed though ? Hendricks, Smyly, Neris? I doubt it but those are the only ones I think might get claimed and have enough salary left to make a difference in payroll
  6. It's reversed 5 mil this year, 2.5 next year
  7. They have a bunch of Arb and pre arb to deal with for 2025 thru 2027 but damn, LT will be at 257, 277, and 297 those 3 seasons and their payroll sits at 126, 47, and 48. There is zero reasons not to go out and sign or trade for elite and very good players at a cost with basically a clean payroll to spread that money over the years. They have a couple solid prospects near ready to come up and good young players on roster still under team control, there zero reasons why Hoyer shouldn't be going hard after Soto and or Burnes .
  8. Not 100 pitches, the rule would be to go 6 innings .. This is a dumb idea https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-reportedly-weighing-six-inning-requirement-for-starting-pitchers-how-mandatory-outings-could-work/
  9. LT is 238 Mil, cubs are at 233 mil I saw this on fangraph that they can buy Cody out for 5 mil which will put them at 238. So, makes me wonder if that's his plan 🤷‍♂️
  10. Hey, they tried, they got to 1 game under 500 🤷‍♂️
  11. Did Bote get glued to the bench, can't remember the last time he played Edit: enters Bote lol
  12. Gonna be an interesting offseason.. https://x.com/Michael_Cerami/status/1823512178021765600?t=cbAkJVchjU3SZmZl8y4jfQ&s=19
  13. Assad will likely be in bullpen/ spot starter next season. He good for 1-2 times through order, so if needed he can get them from the 5th through the 7th inning.
  14. One missed called 3rd strike to end an inning has turned into a 4 run deficit 🤦‍♂️
  15. These next 12 games imo is big for the Cubs and could pretty much let us know if September baseball could be meaningful. If they can keep the good momentum going, play over 500 ball these next 12 and stay within striking distance for a WC spot, theyll have 10 more series to play and just 3 tough teams in Yankees, Dodgers back to back and Phillies second to last series. Gotta win series and avoid any 3+ games losing streaks.
  16. Waiting til later in game so the pitchers will have less opportunity to give it all back 😅😏
  17. Cubs look like they were up early watching Soccer and drinking some beer to celebrate 😅😅😅
  18. Cubs got one more homerun coming from them, hopefully with guys on base.
  19. Not saying they didn't have good appearances from others, it's just that Leiter was basically their guy in the 7th and 8th inning to hold the lead and in July he had 7 appearances 7.2 IP for them and didn't give up a run. He also didn't give up any hits or walks, so yea he was one of the biggest reason for that success.
  20. They don't have Leiter anymore who was probably the biggest part of that stat, we'll see I guess
  21. Sox have all the momentum now and Cubs don't exactly have shutdown relievers, this could be a how to blow a 7 run lead to the worse team in baseball night.
  22. If Crochet has been laboring his last few starts, if Sox are smart they should shut the kid down for the season. There's like 8 more starts left for him, They be better off saving him for next season. The most he's thrown was 50 innings in relief 3 seasons ago and he's more then doubled that now.
