  1. Hummel was the "glue" guy of those teams. Purdue would've went deeper in tournaments had it been Moore or JJJ getting injured instead of Hummel IMO. Still sucks that the 2 years that Purdue had a good chance getting to championship game was the 2 years Hummel blew out his knee. Heck Purdue last year should've been in the sweet 16 and beat Kansas, but Purdue sucks and played not to lose instead of playing to win the last couple minutes in that game.
  2. I'm not sure. I haven't seen him out lately. I know he stopped when he got in trouble, but the dude was fun at the bars.
  3. I think part of that ratio was that Saints was behind a ton this year (compared to last couple seasons). Still it can't be that much higher than the past few seasons. I do agree they didn't use Sproles enough.
  4. I have no idea how this trade would possibly work. But man, if the Cubs can pull off Stanton, this would be a very fun season. My first reaction was Shark for Delgado and Teheran, flipping them to Miami, as part of the deal. If it was Shark for those two, I hope Cubs keep one of them and trade the other to Miami. Rizzo/Baez/Delgado or Teheran is a pretty good start IMO, then you throw in the mid levels (Villanueva or Amaya???) /risky high upsides (Vizcaino or Maples???) and you're in the ballpark for Stanton.
  5. December 4, 2007: Traded by the Florida Marlins with Dontrelle Willis to the Detroit Tigers for Dallas Trahern (minors), Burke Badenhop, Eulogio De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and Mike Rabelo. That was for Miguel Cabrera. What's a comparable package to that? Stanton will be even more than that IMO since he will have more team control than Cabrera did when he was traded. Heck it's not said all that much, but age is a HUGE factor when you talk about Stanton. He's like what? 4 months older than Castro?
  6. Didn't someone (ABTY7 maybe??) say Marlins were looking for more pitching? I wanna say somebody said that at PSD. If that's the case, I could see that Shark trade and the package around: Baez Hultzen another Seattle SP prospect (instead of Franklin) Vogelbach Maples or whatever Cubs SP prospect they like or maybe Travis Wood? I could also see a Soriano or DeJesus trade for a SP prospect that would be in the package.
  7. I'm gonna be pissed if Tice is fired and Lovie isn't. That means Lovie goes into his 10th season as Bears HC and on his 5th OC!!!! Seriously... 5 OCs in 10 years. Enough is enough.
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Peppers can play 5 tech and possibly 3-4 OLB on certain plays. The only question I have are where Melton/Paea/Wooten/etc fit in a 3-4?
  9. I just don't think Chip Kelly will be a successful NFL coach. Tom Clements, the Green Bay OC, is my choice. McClellin doesn't have the ability to play MLB. Maybe OLB in the 4-3 but there's just too much coverage responsibility for an MLB which I don't see him being able to do. 1. I like Chip Kelly, but the more I think about it... he's a bad fit with the Bears. I'm on board with Clements as well. 2. Long would be nice, but LT will be expensive on the FA market and I think Bears at the moment are only 13 mil under the cap for next year (don't quote me on that, just remember seeing that number somewhere). If they got Long and resign Melton, how much will be left? 3. I am not a fan of drafting TE in the 1st. Someone could talk me into it, but it'll be like the Shea pick for me. Maybe it's because I haven't really paid attention to Eifert all that much. Is Eifert better than Fleener? Better than Olsen in 2007? I'm just hoping that Barkley/Tyler Wilson/Bray/Glennon/etc will still be on the board and a team will be desperate for a QB to trade up and Bears get a great package for that pick. 4. I think if Lovie is gone, Emery will bring a coach will play a 3-4 defense. I know the our DL isn't exactly "suited" for it, but I'm still trying to figure out the McClellin pick and what they're gonna do with him. If that's the case, it could bring several other options in the draft as well.
  10. I'm sure Cubs were trying to get as much as they can by adding an IF in that deal, but I would take Bourjos straight up. Am I the only one who would take Marmol for Bourjos straight up? Not sure if Angels would do that anyway, but man... getting Bourjos would be great IMO.
  11. i dunno, but i've always been a big fan of him. nc state had mediocre talent and he led them to some very solid years. just seems like a talented guy who makes smart decisions and can create a little with his legs. NC State?
  12. Only if we get in a shootout or are trailing big, neither of which are likely to happen. I'm going to go with 205 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. He needs to average 185 in each of these last two games to reach 3,000 yards on the season. Should be able to do that barring injury. Forte needs to average 49 rush yards in each game to reach 1,000. It's going to be weird to have a 3,000 yards passer, 1,000 yards rusher, and a 1,500 yards receiver in a single season on the same team. Yet they're like in the bottom 5 as an offense in the league.
  13. Rougarou? Interesting... That's probably my pick out of those 5. Mosquitos would be horrible IMO. I probably rank them Rougarou/Pelicans/Bullsharks/Swamp Dogs/Mosquitos.
  14. I would give Sizemore that split contract (for 2 years) like that Japanese RP who is hurt got. Sizemore is not supposed to be back until midseason I believe. Sign him a similar deal (maybe less $$/yr, but more incentives).
  15. I cant imagine they'd have included Holland with Olt. That would have been sick. For trading Garza, Marmol, and Russell? I don't think it would've been Holland, but I can see both Perez/Buckel along with Olt and Martin. Heck it could be even more than that for those 3.
  16. Didn't look like he extending that arm that much to be called OPI IMO.
  17. I was thinking the exact same thing.
  18. Man... Jeffery and Shields are really going at it.
  19. Seriously... Plus some horrible playcalling on top of that.
  20. College coaches transitioning to the NFL have been very unsuccessful lately That's not really true any more. Apart from Pete Carroll who had NFL experience I can't think of any. I still prefer Cowher for some reason. When was the last time Cowher coached? Not sure if you want a coach who been out of it for that long.
  21. That would be a ballsy move and one I would LOVE to see happen.
  22. Not only that, but the ref who threw the flag was almost all the way on the other side of the field. How could he make that call?
  23. Exactly. Their blitz has suck this year. No pressure whatsoever.
  24. Let's just pack up and call it a game then. Or... you go into half, try to make some adjustments, show your new right tackle some looks at the defense, get your QB cooled down, and see if you can come back from a daunting 7 point deficit in more than 28 seconds. Yes I have total confidence in this coaching staff to make the necessary adjustments. I know that's not the point. Just so tired of the overall conservative mindset. You have to draw the line somewhere. I think trying to go for points with 28 seconds and at least 40 yards to even get into reasonable field goal position is well past that line. They had 2 timeouts left right? Take a shot or 2.
