  1. Bears should be like, "Here you go Hester, here is your new playbook and it has like 3 plays in it. Memorize it." And he still would screw it up.
  2. That was more of a bitch slap there.
  3. Wow... I don't think Cutler could've thrown that ball better to Forte.
  4. Weird... Hester is going for it on returns today. Not even trying to dance around. I like it.
  5. More teams = more games = $$$$$$ How would they do a 14 team playoffs? So it'll be 4 division winners and 3 wild cards? Would that make it only the 1 seed get the bye and everyone else plays? Then 1 seed gets the lowest seed and the other 2 plays each other. 16 teams is just stupid. BTW... I want it to stay at 12. No need to expand the playoffs.
  6. Ehh... Choo only has 1 year left and IIRC his agent is Boras. I don't think he's going to bring a good return back. It should be better than Stubbs/Gregorius, but I don't think anyone was willing to beat that package.
  7. I'm fine with Eifert in the 1st assuming that Bears sign 2 OLs in FA. Then Warfield/Carimi. I'll take those 4 and whoever the 5th guy is for next year. It would be tough to completely overhaul the OL in a single offseason.
  8. Is this the same Jerry Franklin who went to Arkansas? I watched him at Arkansas in 2010/2011. I was surprised that he went undrafted.
  9. I'm in the camp of getting BPA at any position besides QB/RB and possibly S. Bears need young, good, possible "impact" players almost everywhere. That sounds like Emery there with what he said last year and he picked Shea in the 1st so maybe it's not a good idea. There's no need for Lattimore when you got Bush/Forte already. I guess you could stash him and when he's ready (and that's a big IF), you can cut Forte or Bush. If you want to draft a 3rd RB, think someone like LaMichael James/David Wilson/speed burner type RB. Not sure who would be there in the later rounds. Anyway... It's going to be a big offseason for Emery. It'll be interesting to see who they go after in FA, who get resign/extended or restructure/cut/etc, and who they draft in the first 2 rounds. Does anybody know how the Bears salary cap look for next year yet? Just wondering if they got money to spend or if they gotta get creative for some cap space.
  10. this mock draft made me LOL... http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfp-mock-draft-1-0-163000289--nfl.html;_ylt=AhvIhPzCb4vlwkSBsX3jmhQ5nYcB;_ylu=X3oDMTQ0MWpua3E5BG1pdANGRUFUVVJFRCBNZWdhdHJvbiBTUE9SVFMgRlAEcGtnAzkxODk4YjI0LTQyZjQtMTFlMi1iNzVmLThkYmQ2YWNlZWFlYwRwb3MDNgRzZWMDbWVnYXRyb24EdmVyAzk0NjM1ZjEzLTQyZjQtMTFlMi1iOWZmLTNiZmZkZmJmN2U1OA--;_ylg=X3oDMTFpNzk0NjhtBGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQDBHBzdGNhdANob21lBHB0A3NlY3Rpb25z;_ylv=3
  11. with Myers for Shields and Davis? Wow... How does the Rays pull this off?
  12. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Source: #Rays will send James Shields and Wade Davis to #Royals for Wil Myers and other prospects. Wow... I wonder who else Rays are getting??
  13. What was he saying? Next weeks game is gonna bury this team barring more Cutler to Marshall magic To paraphrase, Cutler should be grateful if the Bears resign him, since he can't stay healthy. It's also his fault he keeps getting hurt, and he should know in advance if an INT will be returned for a TD, and therefore not throw the pass. Cutler also doesn't have the benefit of banned substances to alleviate his pain like Jim Miller did. What an idiot. Not only that... Bears should be grateful that Cutler is willing to do an extension and not bolt the team with the OL/OC/etc. he had over the years as a Bears. How in the world does a QB know "in advance" that it'll be a pick 6? That makes my head hurt. Cutler shouldn't been throwing anyway on that play. It was 3rd and 1 and they leave Bush on the sideline. Why is Bush not used more? What's the point of signing him then?
  14. Other than the Cowboys, the Bucs were the 2nd least worrisome team below us because of their horrid conference record. But I'll take it I guess Oh I know, but this def takes them out of the picture now so 1 less team to worry about. The question will be the NFC east if Giants loses to the Saints. Do Bears have tiebreaker over Giants if they ended up not winning the division? Because we basically want the Cowboys to be 2nd in that division so Bears have a better chance at playoffs.
  15. LOL Tampa Bay lost on the last play...
  16. Yeah I'm not sure about Briggs. I like to think so if he keeps going for another 2-3 years, but how many career 4-3 OLB made it to the HOF? That's gotta be an uphill battle to make it.
  17. HEY... the one time dancing around worked!
  18. Well... AP is on pace to shatter the single game rushing record.
  19. Change all the white into gold as gold is the 3rd color in that scheme. Then you get the idea of what the color scheme would be.
  20. Not a fan of the actual Pelican in their primary/alternate logo. It seems like a 7 year old drew it up. Maybe it'll look better in person. Besides that, I like everything else. Even the wordmark although it reminds me of the Clippers.
  21. I've heard Arkansas was willing to fork up to 5 mil/yr for a HC. I also went there for Architecture School and that's what my buddies that are still in school say.
  22. If the draft went that way, I like Oday Aboushi more than Robey in the 2nd. I think Aboushi can stay at LT in the NFL. Dude is super athletic for a LT (unless that changed this year as I saw him a couple games last year and none this year). I think a guy to watch out for the Bears 1st round pick is Xavier Rhodes. Big fan of him and his skill set.
  23. I like him and also my pick. A lot of people wants Butch Jones around here in West Lafayette from what I've heard. I live a couple mins from campus and went to school there. My only problem with Purdue athletic is will they pony up the $$$ for coaches/asst coach/recruiting/etc... as they're super stingy about it. They finally did that for Painter when he signed for his new deal a couple years ago. I think there's a sizeable group of Purdue fans more concerned about being publicly snubbed by Jones than about getting the right guy. I agree we're known for being cheap and that's too bad (but true). Hopefully Daniels is influencing this hire. He's smart enough to know how important a successful football program is. Plus we've got new money coming soon with the new BTN TV deal. Yeah... I also know a lot of people who don't care who the next coach is as long as he's better than Danny Hope (plus being a good recruiter is big with the people I know). I do know that Daniels is "indirectly" influencing on the hire (doesn't start his job until next month). He was at the Purdue-IU game and was actually at the same tailgating party as I was before he went into the game. Did hear him say the BTN deal will be big for Purdue. He was pretty tight lipped about everything and whenever he said something, it was vague.
