  1. traded with dempster and vitters (didn't play tonight) for zach lee, matt kemp, and clayton kershaw. fixed
  2. Come oooonnn Eovaldi Key word here is "could". It's really not saying much. Probably why KG is confused.
  3. rotator cuff surgery #2
  4. Kobe is an idiot. Kobe is 33 years old. Magic was only 32 (and 10,000 less minutes or so) when he was on the Dream Team. Only Bird was older than Kobe and past their prime. I heard that like Dream Team avg age is like 28 and 2012 is 26, but 2012 team could be "older" if you looks at minutes played by each guy due to guys leaving college early or went to NBA from high school compared to the Dream Team at their point of their career. Also don't forget that Dream Team only went with 2 Centers because they knew they didn't need to go big so that's why Laettner was selected over Shaq. Can you imagine a 20 year old Shaq with the Dream Team?
  5. I think we are at somewhere between $105-110m We're close to 90 since we're paying Zambrano to play for the Marlins so basically expect close to the same team as this year.
  6. I hope Appel goes back for another year and then get picked in the teens.
  7. Olt or Odor/Buckel or Grimm or Ross/Perez/PTBNL (maybe a Miguel De Los Santos or Jorge Alfaro???)... While it's not the kind of package I'm hoping for (I rather have a pitcher as the centerpiece like most people here instead of someone like Olt/Odor), it'll be just enough for Garza. That's basically 3 guys in the top 10 and another in the 15-20 range.
  8. Just curious since I was born in '84 so I don't know how bad that was. Was it as bad as '03? I was in college and I remember after the whole Bartman/A Gonz fiasco, my dorm basically turned into a riot. Kids were throwing stuff out the window or into the hallway and I'm pretty sure I've never heard so much cussing as I did that night. For those who lived through both, which was worse? '84 or 2003? 2003 was worse, but it's like asking which is worse, testicular torsion or passing a kidney stone. Since my older brother had both already... it's kidney stone hands down from what he told me.

  10. Here's the thing... Nash can shoot. Probably better than any teammate Kobe ever had on his team and probably by a good margin. I imagine Nash will give Kobe the ball quite a bit. Don't forget he will have Bynum and Gasol to pass to. Kobe isn't really a catch and shoot player, but Nash can be. Who else on the Lakers could be that guy? You talked about they're not a good 3 pt shooting team. They just got a guy who shot 42% (good for 8th all time) for his career from 3 pt land and had his worst % in 13 years this year at 39%. He's going to help them out there. Nash is pretty reliable/efficient shooting-wise and that's what the Lakers need IMO. He's really underrated as a shooter. Quite a few PGs trying to guard Westbrook will be hilarious. Nash isn't alone there. I do agree with that they need to get more athletic and younger. Do I think they're back in the mix? IMO... yeah, but I see them as the Celtics. They can still contend and if they get a couple lucky breaks here and there, they can get back in the Finals. First I thought it was 4- 1st rounders and I was like "Wow... they won't get younger anytime soon." Now it's 2- 1st and 2- 2nd round picks so it's even better for the Lakers now.
  11. I think NBA should've went something like the NHL system if they really wanna thrive. I think their new CBA deal is horrible. I don't think either side won on this deal. Heck, Miami Heat lost money this year and that's with winning a championship, sold out all their home games, AND not pay a penny for their arena. They will opt out in 2017 for a new CBA deal. I'm not sure how these owners are just flat-out losing money like this each year. If it's really true, then it's all on the commish but it's Stern. Dude just needs to retire and get banned from NBA immediately by the new commish the day he takes office.
  12. I think it's crazy that someone was willing to give Gordon a "max" contract after him playing only 9 games and getting injured then having surgery. What scares me is if guys like him are going to get "max" deals, then what will the NBA looks like 3 years down the road?
  13. Thank god I got to see him last year in AA when he played against the Naturals and got his autograph. The funny part is I'm 6'3" 230 and I thought he was bigger than me. Dude is built like a NFL RB.
  14. Alex White. That's #30 and 47 prospect before 2011 by BA along with Joe Gardner and Matt McBride. I wonder what would be a comparable package look like from the Blue Jays for Garza (or any other team who been linked with Garza).
  15. Man... Mavs really won on that trade with 3 picks for Zeller. With a draft this deep and possibly getting Deron Williams, Mavs can get right back into title contention.
  16. Great pick by Suns IMO.
  17. I know they want him to play at PG, but I think he's insurance at SG in case Gordon doesn't want to re-sign. That seems like a bad idea. Oh I totally agree. Rivers will either have to be at PG or be the 6th man and back up Gordon. Unless Gordon bolts to another team then he'll be starting SG. If I am the Hornets, I would make Rivers the 6th man (still play 30 minutes a game while backing up both PG/SG spot) and coach him on his dribbling/ball handling/etc if you're gonna end up making him a PG. Otherwise, he'll be a combo G in the Tyreke Evans mold.
  18. I know they want him to play at PG, but I think he's insurance at SG in case if Gordon doesn't want to re-sign.
  19. Sac flies count against OBP. Yeah, basically, he has more SAC + SF than BB + HBP. Not hard when he had 0 BB/HBP at that time...
  20. Pretty sure the pick is lottery protected in 2013, then it's top 8 protected in 2014, and #1 protected in 2015... I would say Bobcats will get the pick in 2014 and probably a lottery pick.
  21. Doesn't everyone? Have you ever seen him in person? *cringing* He's even uglier.
  22. So Rockets will have 14th, 16th, and 18th pick? That'll be interesting...
