    Well, that's just good [expletive] business. When you own a product and have parasites trying to latch on for free and/or getting in the way of increasing revenue that's rightfully yours, you cut off their lifeblood. It would be funny if this actually happens and after they buy the rooftop buildings, they move the signs from Wrigley to the facade of the buildings and reuse the rooftop bleachers again.

    The only thing I can proud of about my bracket is that my Midwest bracket is perfect so far. South/East are "ok", but I had Georgetown/UNLV going elite 8. West is just flat-out UGLY. The only thing I have right so far is Ohio State and that's it. Yes, that means I had Southern over Gonzaga (the only time I've ever had a 16 seed over a 1). So I got 11 out of 16 right and that's probably my worst in 10 years or so that I've done brackets although I might've had 10/16 one year.

    I haven't watched any of the tournament or really have followed it at all (watching only NCAA past 3 days) but I plan on watching tomorrow. I am guessing he's putting out of his ass again? I'd have to think he's in the top 10 for fewest puts in the tournament. Key iron shots/scrambling/putting plus a few lucky bounces... Just like the old Tiger. Had 25 putts today. Like I have said before, I wish he just scrap his driver for good and just use his 3/5 wood. Way more consistent off the tee with his woods. Although if he ever find his groove with the driver again (like way back in '99/'00 where he was top 60 in driving accuracy), it's going to be scary.

    I like Jones a ton. He's versatile too, could play either G or C. I would worry about his health, but I'm sure NFL teams will be well informed about that before making a pick. I'm shocked they're dropping him that low. It does look like he won't be able to do anything before the draft, but it shouldn't matter since they have a TON of tape on him. I found his injury history FWIW... Right Shoulder surgery in 2008. Missed 2 games in 2010 with a high ankle sprain Missed 2 games due to a sprained ankle in 2011 Lisfranc sprain with torn tendons in the BCS Championship game. Played through it and will have surgery. Expected to be out 3-4 months and will miss the Combine. Matt Schaub, Darren McFadden, Santonio Holmes, Ryan Kalil, DeMarco Murray, Maurice Jones-Drew and Cedric Benson all had Lisfranc injuries if you're wondering who else had it.

    Welp... he's doing it again. Out of 77 players that made the cut, Tiger is 75th in driver accuracy and 64th in ball striking, yet he's in 1st. Just mind boggling.

    Bushrod and Bennett would be perfect. Again, Bushrod was worse than Webb last season. Didn't PFF have Bushrod at like +1.5 and Webb at -1??? That would mean Bushrod was better than Webb last season according to them.

    I'm still not sure why he even has a driver in his bag sometime. He hit his 3/5 woods as far as most tour players hit their driver and he's way more consistent in keeping it in the fairway compared to the driver. Although there are times when he get his driver going, but it's rare. But yeah, like you said, nobody is touching him when he's putting like that. I mean... 100 putts in 72 holes? That's just insane.

    MJ was just as good at the same age. I decided to check to see how many players at age 34 scored 24 pts a game or more and there are 7 (including Kobe). Kobe, MJ, Karl Malone, Dominique Wilkins, Elgin Baylor, Alex English, and Bernard King. Only MJ (28.7) and King (28.4) scored more per game than Kobe (27.8). Also MJ and Malone had better PER than Kobe as well. Then I checked for the same 24 pts/gm or more, but at age 35. There's only two. Alex English and Elgin Baylor. Then Malone did it at age 36 and he's the oldest to score that much per game in a season. I'm not sure how it's possible. It's really impressive. Especially when you consider how many career minutes Kobe have racked up by now (44,800 which is good for 15th all time).

    FWIW, Fluker, Watson, and Pugh are 3 of the next 4 picks after Patterson in that mock. Wow... Does he really think that 8 OLs will be pick in the top 25? I would think Bears would value Austin more (speed/playmaking/body of work) than Patterson, but I agree that if he's there, you take him. Patterson was also impressive in the return game and also had some carries at RB.

    I haven't watched much of LeBron's Heat tenure, but when he was with the Cavs he probably got beat up on drives to the basket as much or more than anyone in the league(often times without calls). Definitely. The guy is just a freak. It's pretty great to watch. I think the thing about why you don't see players challenge him at the rim is that he doesn't do it as often as he used to. When he does attack at the rim, it's usually on fast breaks, backdoor cuts when nobody is looking, or nobody is near him. He pick and chooses when to go at the rim now and instead of driving a bunch and going to the line like he did with the Cavs. Probably the biggest thing is his improved jump shot over the years. He doesn't have to drive at the rim as much anymore.

    Wow... Lakers definitely looks like they're done for this season. Although OKC should be winning by 20 by now. Not sure what made Kobe think he could play cuz he was holding his right elbow the entire game until he went out.

    Cook wanted to be tagged as a WR and was going to go to an arbitrator to decide TE vs WR if the Titans tagged him (he played a lot of his snaps out wide). I read somewhere that he only played 21% of his snaps as an "in-line TE". It's the same situation that Aaron Hernandez was gonna go through before he got his contract.

    Just looked at the latest mock. I would be ok with Austin/Long/Sims for the Bears, but if I was the Bears GM and this is how the draft went... Draft Austin in the 1st and I would trade up in the 2nd 4-5 spots (would a 5th or future 4th be enough with the 50th?) and draft Ertz. Then in the 4th, I would replace Sims with Schwenke. Austin/Ertz/Schwenke would be pretty ideal, but it won't happen. Not sure why Schwenke is still mocked in the 4th.

    All I know is just those 3 with the Bears so far (walterfootball has Lane Johnson having an interview with the Bears although he doesn't mention Te'o or Fluker- http://walterfootball.com/draft2013meetingsteams.php).

    I'm not sure if the level of competition was "quite a bit higher than it is now" as a whole. At worst, it's equal, but I don't think it's as much you think. It's really tough to compare as one era was pretty traditional players (as far as positions and roles) and the other is FULL of hybrid players. The one thing I will say is that big men of today's couldn't compete with the big men in MJ's time. It's not even close IMO. What impresses me about the late 80s/early 90s was how much you can get away with defensively. That's what makes MJ so awesome compare to like Kobe and LeBron. Dude was scoring and putting up insane #s while defense could do whatever they want to him every single game (no hand check rule/never had to worry about flagrant or technical on hard foul/etc).

    I agree with you. As far as career goes, LeBron is a better distributor. BUT... people do forget that Jordan average 8 assists game in his '88-'89 season though. So you can't say "than Jordan ever was". I'm convinced that MJ would've had more seasons like '88-'89 in the early 90s if Pippen wasn't there. illiniguy has it right though. Lebron is in the conversation, but he's just not quite there yet. He's very close IMO as he's there or even better right now as a player than MJ, but he needs the awards/rings/etc to catch up. According to per he's still behind him and that's with LeBrons decline to go. That's true. He is behind, but it's only by .4 or something like that at the moment and Lebron isn't declining yet. Not sure how much a .4 difference would make. Regardless we're debating between the all time PER career leader vs the #2 all time PER career leader. Peak/prime years wise... they're just as close and LeBron is still in his peak/prime for another 3 years probably. Top 6 PER seasons: MJ- 31.7/31.6/31.2/31.1/29.8/29.7 good for 30.85 avg LeBron- 31.7/31.4 (this year so it still go up or down)/31.1/30.7/29.1/28.1 good for 30.35 avg

    Not to mention that it was 2 three peats in 8 years. The other 2 years?? MJ was playing baseball and then came back very late in '95. People do "think" that if MJ didn't retired the first time that the Bulls would've won 8 straight. I'm going to enjoy watching him too esp. when he's on a hot streak. People are so impressed with this 7 game stretch that LeBron got going that they think it's unbeatable. I'm much more impressed with MJ's 10 triple doubles in a 11 game stretch from 3/25/89-4/14/89 than the streak of 30+ pts and 58+% FG. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01/gamelog/1989/ Ended up with 15 triple doubles that year. Sad part about that was MJ didn't lead the league in triple doubles that year. Magic had 17!
