  1. Don't know if this is good or not. Could mean the Cubs are asking too much or that the bidding war is driving the price to high for the Os liking. Good. We have a good 4.5 weeks before the deadline. They can ask for the moon and then some for the next 4.25 of those. If somebody gives it to them, great. If July 29 rolls around and we haven't fleeced anybody, then start fielding those last minute offers. Somebody will bite. Assuming he doesn't get hurt. Ask for the entire time, we don't have to trade him. We could keep him and look to extend him. With Garza? I don't think Cubs will extend him. If they haven't done so by now (it seems like they tried since they got him), then it's most likely won't happen. Either Cubs trade him or keep him and give him a QO in the offseason which will result in a comp pick as someone WILL sign him to a deal.
  2. What if they come back with Skaggs/Bradley and one of the other 3 whoever you prefer? That's pretty tempting to me.
  3. Pedestrian bridges cut into public property, which is the air rights above the street. They are controversial wherever they come. And he has a point about it only serving a select few who would be staying at the hotel. It would be akin to those motes at newer stadiums that separate the hoi polloi from the important people. I think it is an easy thing for them to give up. They'd likely have put ads on it though, so it just depends on how much they lose from that. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but isn't the first 2 levels of the hotel building on the outside is basically retail store spaces? If true, then it's open to the public on the first 2 levels on the outside. Then the hotel is on the inside of it and goes all the way up. If I'm right, then the bridge doesn't go "directly" to the hotel. I mean if it's just strictly for people who stays at the hotel then they gotta put a gate up somewhere on that bridge or the entrance of it on the other side of the street to stop from anyone to go there. Also... if that's true, do you basically use your hotel key to get through? I'm not buying it. You can't see it in any renderings yet, but I'm betting that there's a stairs and elevator that goes to ground level on the other side of the hotel for people to use the bridge. I can't see it being like an actual "private" pedestrian bridge. Now if it was going from the hotel to the new triangle building on the plaza, then I can see the gripe. Tunney is probably griping about that bridge thinking it's ONLY for people who stays at the hotel when in reality, it's open to the public to use. Would Tunney have access to the blueprints of the whole renovation where he gets to see the floor plans/elevation views/etc...? Even then, it's a weird thing to gripe about. Same way with the hotel patio. The outside patio will most likely be closed by 10 or 11 at night at the latest so they wouldn't disrupt the neighbors. He can't support for the outside patio, but he can for the rooftops? What a douchebag. He's just pissed that he won't get any $$$ out of this like he does with the rooftops.
  4. That's a terrible return for the Cubs. Again, IMHO 1 Top 10-25>2-3 Top 50-100 You should get 2 top 50-100 guys (basically the Jimenez trade) or Castellanos plus a high risk/high upside lower level arm for Garza ALONE IMO. So to also get Schierholtz/Gregg/Navarro, you should be getting more than what you got. Castellanos, Garcia, and Thompson plus whatever is probably the package I would go for unless you can get Smyly? That package doesn't get me all giddy, but then again Detroit doesn't really have the system to pull off a trade like that.
  5. Great reliever, great price, but I like to think that they'll at least entertain offers. Only way I'll trade Russell is to get a Marshall type offer. Marshall type offer or better. Marshall was entering a walk year, Russell won't hit free agency until 2016. Hmm... didn't know Russell was under team control for that long so it'll have to be better than Marshall's deal. Ehh... I don't think I would do that for just Russell alone. It's close, but I don't think it's enough for me to pull the trigger.

  7. I do. Hedges would be the centerpiece in the deal (unless it's like Fried or umm... not sure who else as I haven't paid much attention to the Padres farm system this year). Even with Hedges as the centerpiece, it's still not THAT great of a centerpiece. Is he even considered a top 50 prospect at this point? IMO he's not. He's more in the 51-75 range maybe? and if I want to trade Garza, I would like to have a top 50 piece to headline the deal. I guess you could say Kelly is that guy (I think he was top 50 in preseason list from BA IIRC), but I don't. At least not with him having TJS and hasn't pitched yet this year. What other options that are Hoyer/MacLeod prospects? that Peterson kid in the 1st a couple years ago?
  8. For Feldman. Maybe. That's how I feel TT. What's so special about Kelly really and like Vizcaino, he hasn't pitched yet this year.
  9. Austin Hedges? Joe Ross? Matt Wisler? Casey Kelly? I'm not interested in Fuentes as the anchor to a Garza trade. What's the best 3 prospects package there? Fuentes/Hedges/Kelly? It's a decent package, but I'm not sure I would pull the trigger on that for Garza. That kind of package is like Plan C when everything else fails and you fall back on that.
  10. So for all the people who wanted the Bears to draft Ryan Swope. Just an update... he still hasn't been cleared by the doctors and there's a good chance that he might not ever see the field again. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/offseason-concussion-woes-nfl-players-scary-reminder-serious-163944674.html
  11. He still needs to celebrate. This was literally the only thing good about their championship last year: http://thebiglead.fantasysportsven.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/bosh-celebrate-2.gif I was wondering when someone was going to post that.
  12. No... that's Juwan Howard. Or is he Wooderson from Dazed and Confused?
  13. Now Pops put in Parker...
  14. I guess they don't call travel anymore. Duncan shuffling his feet everywhere before that flop shot went in.
  15. Heat should be winning by 10 right now.
  16. So... are they gonna keep giving LeBron that cushion?
  17. He looks a little tired and injured? It looks like he is limping a little bit.
  18. It's weird too. Dude used to be a really good dribbler with the Sonics/Bucks. I guess that's what happens when you don't have to dribble more than 2 times anymore for the past 7 years or so.
  19. KG got 2 years left on his contract. I expect him to finish out that contract and probably retire after that. I could see him play 1 more year if he REALLY wants to win that 2nd title. I'm not high on Howard either, but he's still a really good player.
  20. Leonard is a 63% FT shooter. don't get why people are so anxious to be all CHOKE CHOKE every time a team loses a close game. 82%, They put up a graphic late in the game saying 63 or 64% for Leonard. it was wrong. or it was postseason. he was 83% in the regular season and 80% career He was 63% in the playoffs. 26-41 before tonight.
  21. How so? Missed the presser. Took like 3 questions and ended it. "Pop how are you going to prepare your team for Game 7?" "We're going to get them in the bus, go to the hotel, and drive back on Thursday." Hahaha... Thanks. Just tried to watch it, but closed captions (I'm deaf) suck whenever you watch sports stuff so I couldn't make anything what he said or what the media asked.
  22. How so? Missed the presser.
  23. I like that 5 steps travel that Manu had on that play. Picked that ball up from beyond the 3 pt line and carry it like a RB through defenders.
