  1. I'm a golf novice. Can someone explain why I can hit my long irons with a nice, deep draw and I can't hit my woods for [expletive]? I hit my driver straight, but I never seem to make solid contact- kind of makes a hollow sound when I connect. Also, good thing I can hit a 3 iron 230 yards because I can't hit any fairway wood with any consistency.
  2. We all are dumber for just having read this. Hahaha yes
  3. as Sandberg said, "the name on the front is a lot more important than the name on the back" Screw principle, if you can help the team by taking a suspension when it wouldnt matter instead of possibly taking one when it would, you do it. This is obnoxious. Just argument for the sake of argument.
  4. Because it's tacky and stupid to have people who don't know what baseball is to get invited into the booth to prove they don't know what baseball is.
  5. I'll be at this game honoring Mad Dog. Go Cubs!
  6. Yeah, it's going from CO Springs to pitcher heaven. I don't really see it happening
  7. If you don't need Uggla and you can stash Hamilton on your bench b/c of your crowded OF, what's the benefit of this trade? Yeah ummm...how many DL spots do you get in Y! H2H? I already have two taken up and it looks like that's where he's going.
  8. What do you guys think? It's only a matter of time before Hamilton starts killing it, but I guess he's d2d with something and my OF is really crowded. Uggla doesn't have huge value to me because I already have Cano at 2nd so he'd be an every day utility guy. I countered by subbing Crawford in for Hamilton and he wouldn't bite. Would you guys substitute Ethier for Hamilton in this spot? I feel like I'm selling too low on a slow start for Hamilton.
  9. Definitely pick up BJ Upton
  10. please bradley for fantasy's sake
  11. dude, you are the king of non-sequitors TT's post is the correct answer. When Soto slumps, dude slumps. Wasn't his 4 k game against the Nats last year?
  12. FYP Kyle, you fail. You think I like In 'n Out because someone else raves about it? Also In 'n Out > Five Guys
  13. I'm convinced Woody will get a standing ovation the first time he takes the mound in the Cleveland series. People know he wanted to stay here, and Hendry kicked him out. That's a totally bogus argument. If he wanted to stay here so badly, he would've taken a big pay cut to do so. As it is, neither is really to blame, but I think if you were to blame one, it would be Kerry. That said, he should get cheered and he will get cheered.
  14. KW=Kenny Williams in every other context ever. This stumped me for a good ten seconds. It's tacky to boo. The loudest booers are the people who don't know [expletive] about the game but want to appear on the ball. The Phillies fans are the absolute worst for this, but I didn't notice too much of a difference between us and them last night. I'm blaming the weather, because the only fans in baseball who boo at the FIRST attempted pick-off throw by the opposition are the Phillies, and we were doing it last night. I'm assuming and hoping that people were just really uncomfortable and anxious to get last night's game over with. I also agree that our fans were booing the situations in the game last night and directing them at the opposition. It's just hard to tell, I imagine, when you're out on the field. I really just hope our fans don't start embarassing me this year by becoming especially bitter and aloof.
  15. In 'n Out's exclusion is devasting to this poll
  16. What? Come on now. Yeah. In what universe has Rich Harden not been a star for the Cubs?
  17. it's an oxymoran. Awesome
  18. I think he was looking for something clever
  19. <------needs more smileys in the OP, plz
  20. It is, but it also rang sort of true for me. "Built for fun," to me, means a team with a ton of guys who can hit the crap out of the ball and nothing else. That's been the Rangers since I've followed baseball. I voted for the Mariners' because it was too try-hard and cheesy
  21. by NPC, you meant MPC, right?
  22. This guy here is dead. Then cross him of the list! gr in his place, plz
  23. It would be nice, but it really doesn't make sense to sacrifice his upside as a starter to put another slightly-above-replacement-level arm in the bullpen for one year. The only real gas can in there right now is Cotts, it's not time to blow up the 'pen just yet.
