  1. I hate to be this guy, but you should use chrome or firefox because IE is garbage
  2. oh, outstanding
  3. Ok, why is this the biggest major? I'm speaking from shameless ignorance here. It seems to me like the "biggest major of the year" is always the one that finished most recently. The birth place of golf, links style golf, very old courses. Kind of like why Wimbledon is the biggest major in tennis. Just a since of history every year this time, kind of like going to Wrigley or Fenway. Well I knew St Andrews was that, but I didn't know the whole slew of British Open courses were similarly prestigious. If I were to guess, I would have said the Masters was the big kahuna of the majors. The Masters is the biggest to the casual American fan. The golf snobs prefer the british open due to the history and tradition. Its similar to how you and me prefer bud light but the beer snobs need belgish fancy [expletive]. Woah, speak for yourself there, redneck. I'm in the other camp and proud of it.

  5. Let's raise our expectations a tad, shall we? I'm calling 2 of 3 from the Phils

  7. Is "clarify" the word you were searching for? That sentence confused me. No. Qualify is the appropriate word there. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/qualification After following your link I guess I see what you mean. I still think that's an interesting use of the word. At best. Not to be a grammar nazi or anything. I just do alot of thinking. It's really funny that you "corrected" this because you didn't know the correct grammatical usage of this word. Then you used "alot." Nope, you're no grammar nazi.
  8. Pretty good thread
  9. Who edits these articles? My God
  10. This guy's frickin weird
  11. Speaking of this, do think Ryan will get some of his velocity back as quickly as this year? Basically, what do you think of the move?
  12. He wasn't all that great yesterday either was he? Missed a ton of fairways. He lost a drive today despite having several dozen spectators help him look. Watson just finished with a very long putt for a second round 70 and is -5, tied for the lead. Tiger is +7, tied for 107th, with Duval, Campbell and many others. Totally rooting for Watson at this point. That would be an incredible win. I don't see him among the leaders on sunday
  13. Hey Vance, remember that test you posed to Wrigley23? He just failed it. Ban please
  14. YES YES YES MORE MIDDLE INFIELDERS NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
  15. That's very close to being extremely funny. I just happened to have spent the night with a friend who's parents died (or were killed) when he was young. He didn't find it very funny, but I got a good laugh out of it. Not sure what that means... take it for what it's worth. If you're not sure what this means...then the rest of us have no chance, bro
  16. that may be, but history certainly suggests that it might. ...which was exactly my point
  17. After reading this thread, I can't imagine that could be true. He does seem like he has a chip on his shoulder. Sort of a "holier than thou" sense of demeanor about him... but he's still hilarious, and I can't imagine he treats his teammates like crap. Maybe they don't like his opinion of himself, but I doubt he's Jack Parkman in the clubhouse Eccentric can sometimes rub people the wrong way
  18. Either that or Lilly wanted to throw a side session in between starts (which would have been the All-Star game if he had pitched) and since he would have only thrown that side session yesterday he can't pitch tonight. Nobody else is on correct rest so that forces the Cubs to pitch Harden. Yeah, not knowing what Lilly's schedule was like surrounding the AS game, i'm trying not to get too upset about it, even though I'm pretty dissapointed. I think they already set their rotation for the next month or so under the assumption that Lilly would pitch in the ASG and they really don't think that Harden's struggles would improve with additional rest between starts.
  19. Cubs FO must not have access to the same data we do. That's the only explanation for why Harden would start tonight
