This is absolutely pathetic. I could see management getting angry if a beat writer was criticizing the team for no apparent reason. But with the way this team is playing right now, there isn't any reason at all to compliment the organization. Going off on a beat writer for doing his job and uncalled for. I would be embarrassed if I was Andy MacPhail and Jim Hendry right now and I'm glad Sneed reported ths incident. Don't those two idiots (MacPhail and Hendry) know that if you want good press you have to do something good with the team. Right now it seems like they are trying to run the organization into the ground. I know that some of the offseason signings ticked some people off here but the problems run far deeper than that. I would be happy if that was the only problem here. But it's the whole philosophy of the organization that is the issue. It's like they don't seem to care at all. The only excuse they use is bad luck. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS!! Is it that hard to blame somebody? You don't have to do it through the media, do it on the field. I think people will get the point if they see Neifi not playing at all - this includes pinch hitting - for a couple days. Don't start Jacque Jones for a couple days after he makes a baserunning error. If people don't seem like they are trying SIT THEM ON THE BENCH. It's not hard to do. At this point, I don't care if it costs the team a game or two or the whole season, but a point needs to be made. Sometimes you need to sacrifice something to achieve a greater goal. I'm not going to quit on the Cubs because they're my team, although I can easily see how some people might. We can only hope that something changes and changes quick. Although I get the feeling that's not going to happen.
