  1. No warnings issued Interesting. Umpires must have used common sense and realized it wasn't intentional.
  2. I think the only people that would get beaned intentionally today are Barrett and Pierzynski.
  3. Grab some pine meat. Sorry to steal from Krukow and Kuiper, but I actually like those guys.
  4. What did hawk say about that? He didn't say "You can put it on the board...yes" Unfortunately we just heard that with Konerko.
  5. I can't wait for the first time Barrett/Pierzynski comes to the plate with the other one behind the plate. It should be interesting. I have to say, I like the old time uni's from the Sox.
  6. And the most amazing part is we aren't last in MLB. The Royals have 26.
  7. I would say collisions like this only happen about 5-7 times a year total in both leagues. A lot of things have to lineup correctly to make it happen. I can think of 3-4 off the top of my head and they go back a few years. Here are some examples with video/game recaps/and some pictures. 3 of the links involve Cardinals, sorry about that. LINK with picture LINK with video Link with pics and video Link with video On second thought, BBTN just showed 5 plays at the plate this week alone. Plays at the plate or collisions at the plate?
  8. I saw it on WGN and AJP was going after his helmet. His helmet clearly went behind Barrett. Yeah you could tell because Pierzynski was mouthing "look my helmet" and dragged his hands along the ground in a direct path towards the helmet. Does anyone really think AJP got up to go after Barrett? If AJP actually was going after Barrett, then that's the worst attempt I've seen to chase someone down. According to the players, Barret grabbed AJP and said, "I didn't have the ball ****," then threw a right cross. AJP didn't say anything before getting hit. see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBTECs-G0F4&search=barrett%20cubs I don't think AJP was trying to go after Barrett. Pierzynski inflicted his damage when he flattened Barrett. He didn't need to do anything else.
  9. i guess if i spent all off season hyping juan pierre, i'd do the best i could to make everyone forget it by making every one of my posts about rich hill too. pierre sucks just like hill. i can admit being wrong. it's just baseball.... Were you the one who admitted that in another thread earlier today? I remember somebody admitted building up Pierre in the offseason and I'm curious if it was you or not. I'm too lazy to look through a bunch of threads. BTW, I had high hopes for Pierre and thought it was a great move by the Cubs to pick him up. I wasn't on this board at that time, so you'll just have to trust me on that one.
  10. I had to vote yes because I don't think the Cubs can do any worse without him then they did with him.
  11. At least Aramis is playing right now so he has the potential to.
  12. I don't think a firesale happens at least until DLee has been back for a while if at all. Management probably wants to see how the full team will perform. I don't necessarily agree with this, but I think this is how they're going about things.
  13. I highly doubt the umpires would allow a player to bean more than two hitters and I wouldn't be surprised if they started tossing people after one hbp.
  14. So he shouldn't be allowed to comment(read: Answer a pointed question) on the situation, which happened while he was pitching and he was about 10-20 feet away from? Just curious, how do you know what question he was asked? I'm not debating you, but if there is information you know that I don't, I would sure like to read it before arguing with you. I based by argument on what was posted at the beginning of the thread. We don't know the question he was asked. The point is, he was obviously asked about the incident, and claiming that he shouldn't comment on it just because he got hit hard is ridiculous. I didn't say he shouldn't comment because he got hit hard today. I meant that he shouldn't comment because he's been hit hard his whole, albeit short career. Hill was basically talking trash to Pierzynski which I don't think is right considering he's basically a rookie. He's the last person who should be talking trash. The fact that he was 10-20 feet from the play doesn't matter at all because Hill didn't offer any extra insight into the situation. To sum up Hill's quote: Pierzynski is bush league. I'm not saying that he shouldn't have said anything, but there is no reason to talk trash to the opposing team who, by the way, has just handily defeated your team two days in a row. You seriously think that's trash talking? Hill called Pierzynski "gutless", called the play "pathetic", and said Pierzynski wasn't playing the game the right way. The only thing Hill forgot to do was insult Pierzynski's manhood.
  15. I can't hate the Cubs. I don't know why, I just can't. They would be the last of my favorite temas that I would ever give up on. I may not go out of my way to watch as many games as I can, but if a game is on, I'm going to watch. Of course, there are exceptions like Woody's first start (which I skipped class for) and I will probably do the same for Prior when he comes back. The difference from year to year is how much of an effort I make to watch the games. I may not agree with their moves, but players, managers, and management come and go but the Cubs as an organization don't go anywhere.
