  1. i'm sure his teammates appreciate that last line. Ortiz is right because Jeter doesn't deserve the AL MVP. Where Ortiz is wrong is that he isn't even the MVP of his own team. Manny Ramirez deserves to be the MVP more than Ortiz. That being said, Jermaine Dye is my AL MVP right now.
  2. Plus then instead of two horrible outfield arms that have no chance of throwing a runner out we would only have one.
  3. I don't know, that's why I put the ?. I should have just asked like you did to avoid confussion. I think they're both just arby eligible. I hope I'm right, but I have a feeling that only Pagan will be with us next year. Back to your original post... Mabry -- 1 / 750K Blanco -- 1 / 1.5M Ramirez -- 5 / 65 (Cubs) Pierre -- 4 / 36 Wood -- 1 / 3 + incentives (Cubs) Miller -- 1 / 2.5 (Cubs) I definitely wouldn't mind bringing Wood back if that was the deal he signed but I think somebody else (Yankees) will offer him another year and more guaranteed money.
  4. The only thing I want for this series is for Rafael Furcal to get beaned at least once.
  5. as if thats good Carrie... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060911&content_id=1657178&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc I just thought about it and I just got sick.
  6. It looks like I will be getting the PSV-Liverpool match. Can't wait.
  7. That's what happens when you park in Al Davis's parking spot. Are you serious? Yes. I thought you were kidding! Way to go Al!!!! I doubt he was deactivated for this but Porter most definitely parked in Al Davis's parking spot the other day.
  8. What Moss did was not taunting at all. It was a stupid call. I think it was Kornheiser during the Vikings-Redskins game that said sometimes players with a bad reputation don't get the benefit of the doubt from the referees for things they do on the field. Sean Taylor got a 15 yard penalty for I believe a late hit that was a borderline call in the fourth quarter that prologned a Vikings drive and that's when Kornheiser brought it up. Later in the quarter on the Redskins last drive, a Vikings player hit a Redskins player late on a pass that was uncatchable but didn't get a personal foul call on him. I'm not saying Kornheiser is right, but it is definitely something to consider.
  9. Yeah, that's it. I guess I should have clarified. I got my expected W/L records from ESPN.com
  10. This thought was brought on by something JGalt73 said in the "Biggest Disappointments" thread about the Cleveland Indians. So I figured I would post the expected won/loss records for all of the MLB teams through today's games and based the standings off of those records: AL East W L GB New York 84 58 - Toronto 75 69 10 Boston 72 71 12.5 Baltimore 61 82 23.5 Tampa Bay 57 86 27.5 AL Central W L GB Detroit 86 58 - Minnesota 81 62 4.5 Chicago 81 63 5 Cleveland 79 63 6 Kansas City 54 90 32 AL West W L GB Oakland 76 67 - Texas 76 68 0.5 Los Angeles 75 69 1.5 Seattle 69 74 7 NL East W L GB New York 83 60 - Atlanta 74 69 9 Philadelphia 74 69 9 Florida 73 71 10.5 Washington 61 83 22.5 NL Central W L GB St. Louis 73 70 - Houston 72 71 1 Cincinnati 69 74 4 Milwaukee 63 81 10.5 Pittsburgh 62 83 12 Chicago 58 86 15.5 NL West W L GB Los Angeles 77 66 - San Diego 73 69 3.5 Colorado 72 71 5 San Francisco 72 71 5 Arizona 70 74 7.5
  11. They should have kicked the field goal. 27-3 is much more respectable than 27-0.
  12. Whatever it takes to get a top pick in the draft.
  13. Shawne Merriman now has 3 sacks on the night and the Chargers have 7 as a team.
  14. I'm going to crack open a beer right now.
  15. He should be thinking about preparing a resume and whether or not he wants to manage next year if another team offers him a job.
  16. Wow. That's amazing.
  17. Don't let yourself think this is possible. You will only end up disappointed.
  18. LT has 90 rushing yards already.
  19. The what?
  20. Huh? What does that mean? I'm not really sure. I've heard reports that some of the world's brightest minds are working on figuring out what the phrase 'Cubs win' means. Not sure how long it is going to take though.
  21. Amen. Spending money does not gaurantee a winning club. True. But spending money should not produce a team that is competing for the #1 draft pick.
  22. Mark that one down as another correct pick for me. Now to watch my Raiders get run all over (pun blatently intended) by LT and the Chargers.
  23. I won't eat crow yet. Really close though. He's earned a spot in next year's rotation, very litle doubt about that. I've got my crow marinading right now.
