  1. Don't you just love how Holliday didn't even hesitate going to third when he rounded second because he knew Pierre wasn't going to throw him out.
  2. I don't think I've ever been happier to see Scott Eyre come out to pitch.
  3. If Z comes out for the eighth my head might explode.
  4. I put the odds at 50/50 that Z comes out for the 8th.
  5. WHY IS Z STILL PITCHING?!?! HE HAD 111 &%$#%$@ PITCHES COME INTO THIS INNING!!! ROT IN HELL DUSTY.
  6. And don't spend too much time on the computer.
  7. Nonsense. Pitch him on two days rest on Sunday. Well, he did only throw 43 pitches yesterday. :P
  8. Throw Steve Phillips on there for good measure. Or if we can get Dibble to come back... :D Oh god. I don't think I would watch baseball tonight ever again if Baker joined them.
  9. I won't miss baseball at least until college football is over but likely not until the NFL is done.
  10. I don't see the humor. Haha, dead guy, toilet, cubs suck. Haha. You can always tell when somebody is trying too hard to be funny and it appears Telander was trying too hard.
  11. That was a funny no-hit bid. A few errors cost the Orioles a run there. Some of them might have been hits had the situation been different.....which got me thinking. A no-hit bid late in the game vs. a guy in the midst of a 30+ game hit streak. Who would get the benefit of the doubt between a close error/hit call by the official scorer? Whoever played for the home team. That would be my guess as well.
  12. The White Sox should be focusing on Juan Pierre instead.
  13. One guy that I work with went to high school and played baseball with Pedroia. I'm sure he'll be happy to hear this news.
  14. Hmm...Chicago Cubs or Champions League highlight show. I'll be back in 45 minutes.
  15. I watched part of the replay on ESPN last night when I got off of work and I couldn't believe that Auburn literally had the ball for the whole third quarter. But even with that South Carolina had a chance to win that game. South Carolina definately had a chance to get that game to overtime and I have to admit that I thought they would lose by 3 touchdowns. If there ever was a moral victory, this was it.
  16. Wow, a guy with a 6.02 ERA has 14 wins on the year. Unbelievable.
  17. The obvious answer to the question would have been ARam but if he was the answer, the question wouldn't have been asked. I didn't think it was Theriot though.
  18. and that shouldn't determine individual value. If someone argues that only players from playoff teams should be considered, I think it's entirely appropriate. Limiting it to players from playoff teams means you're (hopefully) trying to find the player who did the most to get his team there. That simply cannot be said for the Yankees. I agree. That was always my argument against a Yankee for MVP as well.
  19. They will. The question is whether or not they are going to open up the Mount Davis section in CF and sell tickets out there. If they open that up, then they might not. Also, with the A's likely to start up on the road and have Games 3 and, if necessary, 4 at home, they will likely have home games on Friday/Saturday/Sunday instead of Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday like they did in 2002 and 2003.
  20. I picked Missouri to beat Colorado this week so the Tigers better come through.
  21. I though he was the creator of South Park? That would be Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
  22. I'd call his 2003 great, without question. Not down in history great, but great nonetheless. As great as Zambrano last year. zambrano wasnt great last year either imo. we must have a different opinion on what "great" means. i look at some of the years pedro, maddux, clemens, johnson & sanatana have had and woods 2003 just looks like a very average year that a good pitcher would have. not a great year by any stretch imo. So by your definition, there's about 1 great pitcher per year. One could make a serious argument that Zambrano 2004 was better than Zambrano 2005.
