  1. Memberlist --> Select Sort Method: Total Posts --> Order: Descending Same thing...it starts at 999 and goes down based on the number it starts with rather than total post count. I get the same thing. My guess is that it may be related to the search function being disabled. It's as though the number of posts is being interpreted as text rather than numeric, and it's ordered based on the first digit of the number of posts regardless of how many total digits there are. Go into the normal user interface and not the Premium interface. Then do what TT said to do.
  2. I wouldn't consider Green Bay over Detroit an upset. They are both horrible.
  3. They have been winning divisions as long as I can remember. Darn kids. Don't you ever remember the Cubs winning the East? Or how about that when the Braves started their streak, they were actually in the NL West. I remember that. 1993 when the Braves were down big to the Giants late in the season but came back to win the division by one game. The 1993 Giants and their second best record in the majors watching the playoffs from home. Great stuff.
  4. You are correct sir.
  5. Wow. I bet most of that 1.144 came in the first three innings or when the game was already won or lost. Why of course. Because we all know ARod's line in late in close games is something along the lines of .100/.150/.200/.350. The dude just can't hit in the clutch. Are there steroids for the brain that we can give Giambi to make him smarter?
  6. To each their own I guess. I despise violence against women. Personal Issue to be honest. There is no exuse for his actions. He deserves whatever he gets, so I have no problem labeling him a "wife beater". So you have something against fat people as well then?
  7. Do you have to take a personal shot at somebody with every single post? who cares..the guy beat his wife. Thats a fact. he is scum and I have no respect for him. It's just extremely repetative and tiresome. You never just say "Jim Hendry" but always add a shot about his weight. You inferred that Mark Prior was a girl. Now you're taking cheap shots at Brett Myers. I'm not trying to defend the guy and he did make a mistake but the cheap shot is unnecessary.
  8. Do you have to take a personal shot at somebody with every single post?
  9. So Tom Verducci (the author) knows whether or not ARod is going to demand a trade in the offseason? Fact is, nobody knows what is going to happen this offseason. Not Verducci. Not ARod. Not Brian Cashman. Nobody. I don't think he's going to be traded but you can't rule out the possibility.
  10. And we would be getting an even more overpaid, potentially injured starting pitcher in return. No thanks.
  11. I agree, I can smell upset here. If the game was in Jacksonville, maybe. But not in Indy. Last year in Indy, Peyton threw for only 122 yards. The running game was solid, but without Edge there, I don't know how successful they will be running the ball. Their secondary is loaded with big (good tackling..)hitters who are gonna frustrate the finesse receivers all day. Early line has Indy -7. That's a gutsy call after they just shutout the Steelers. Now the Jags gotta score some points :D Yeah. Peyton also threw for 324 yards in Jacksonville later in the year. And I do know my earlier point was that the game was in Indy and that's why I thought Indy was going to win. We'll have to wait and see. It should be a very good game and hopefully that game will be televised out here. Looking at the schedule, San Diego and Oakland don't play and the 49ers play the later game. Hopefully CBS will do the smart thing and show this game.
  12. And we at NSBB have now reached a new low with 2006 Game Threads.
  13. Not in the least. I hate the Yankees and my dad is a Dodgers fan. The potential of having to hear him brag that the Dodgers won another World Series is sickening. No thanks.

  15. Since when did minor league statistics=major league statistics? I must have missed this. If true, our offseason should revolve around doing anything possible to get Jack Cust. We'd have a future MVP. If he played like garbage while he had been up here I would say he isn't capable of doing this. But since he has had 100 at bats up at the big show and has had an OBP of 412 I feel fairly confident in saying he is capable of maintaining his minor league stats. You're right. Let's ignore his minor league history in favor of 100 at bats at the end of a season. You are contradicting yourself. You said "since when did MiL stats = ML stats?" but then you came back and said that minor league stats are indicative of what a player is likely to do in the ML level. Make up your mind. Theriot's MiL OBP's from 2003-2006 were .352, .367, .365, and .367. He's shown the ability to get on base consistently. That trend has continued to the ML level. I don't think he's going to consistently put up a .412 OBP like he has right now, but .360 is realistic.
  16. If a pitcher grooves the ball right over the middle of the plate and the hitter crushes the ball 450 feet, it doesn't matter if you have a defense that doesn't make any errors period because that's going to be a home run. Take last night's Dodgers-Padres game for example which is obviously an anomaly with the back to back to back to back home runs, but bear with me. The Dodgers hit five home runs in the ninth and tenth innings and scored six runs (Kenny Lofton walked before Nomah's game winning HR). It didn't matter how good or bad the Padres defense was in those innings because the pitching blew that game. Again, the ninth inning was an anomaly, I know. Every double/triple into the gap, your defense can't do anything about. That's all on the pitching. Defense does help you out but pitching is FAR more important.
  17. http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/8607/peteroseng5.jpg charlie_hustle:no i mean i already apologized for this specific incident, if i may direct your attention to the other side of the ball http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/8607/peteroseng5.jpg charlie_hustle:that's "bet" in the present tense. i bet on the baseball. so on the same baseball, I said I was sorry for betting on said baseball. i'm covered right? HAHAHA. I don't usually find these too funny, but this is hilarious.
  18. I concur, but it's debatable between him and Pierre. Career OPS+ of 90, JP was at 87 entering this year. Career high of 109 - 2002, compared to Juan's 107 in 2004. Career line of .263/.337/.420 compared to JP's .302/.351/.377. JP will get the longterm deal because of reputation, not necessarily production. I wouldn't want either one next year. I completely agree. My statement wasn't saying that I want Pierre over Matthews Jr. I'm with you, I don't want either of them donning a Cubs uniform in 2007.
  19. My lock is whichever team is playing the Raiders.
  20. I predict that the Raiders will not lose this week. :D
  21. I would like to go on record as saying that even though I like Theriot more than a lot of people here, I would be all in favor of signing Soriano to play 2B next year. We do need an offensive upgrade and if the best/easiest way of doing so is getting Soriano to play 2B, then by all means the Cubs should for it and I would back the decision 100%.
  22. Congrats to Matthews Jr but I don't want the Cubs to sign him to a deal. I think he is having a career year that he's unlikely to have again.
  23. He was running with the pitch. He was only allowed to stay on 2nd because the foul tip went directly into the glove, which counts as a strike. If it hit the dirt, or was bobbled, it would have been a foul ball. It's the same for striking out on a foul tip. I didn't know this either. Thats interesting.
  24. It's good to see him back. I hope he can return to Baseball Tonight next year.
  25. Just curious Fred, but are there any states you haven't been to? And this counts states you just drove throught.
