    I can't stand Duke as well, but that's not quite true. They played Air Force and Marquette at a neutral site, and the go to Gonzaga. And even though they play a ton of home games, they play Air Force, Marquette, Indiana, Gonzaga, Georgetown, George Mason, Holy Cross, and Davidson all before the ACC season. They aren't playing the Sisters of the Poor. we should all know this, as all these games (and probably some practices) have been on ESPN. Even Bilus, who attended Duke, made a comment about how ridiculous this is. They play midmajors on National Television. Nice recruiting advantage. Why wasn't OSU vs. Cleveland St on? I would much rather watch Oden than McRoberts. OSU was on Comcast Sports Net out here. But I do get your point.

    Meanwhile, in the race for the worst record, the Raiders and Lions are both down 14-0 after the first quarter to the Bengals and Vikings respectively.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Hill was untouchable last offseason? That aside, I'm willing to bet that if Hill comes to camp and pitches close to the level he did at the end of last year, he won't be left out of the rotation. And if Prior is healthy it would be a HUGE mistake to trade him. If Prior is healthy, he and Z can match any other team's top 2 starters in the league. Add in Hill and we could have a playoff team on our hands. I apologize for even writing that. I've been drinking. Heavily.

    They certainly have a chance, but I think they'll lose, especially since they'll be on the road. They're a talented but VERY young team (their starters are 3 freshman and 2 sophomores). The fact that the game is at Gonzaga is the sticking point for me. I could get really good odds picking Washington straight up but I just get the feeling that it's a waste of a bet.

    Does anybody know if Washington supposed to be any good this year? They're ranked #13 in the AP and #8 in the Coaches Poll but, in typical Washington OOC fashion, they haven't played anybody yet. I guess what I'm getting at is, do they have a chance to beat Gonzaga?

    Not really, but in Coletti's twisted mind, Jones probably does make sense for them. Furcal was basically a Cub before signing with LA. He traded for Maddux. He was kind enough sign Pierre. Now Jones maybe? Which Cub is he going to want next? Actually, if they're taking all of our outfielders, they should be kind enough to give us at least one of Kemp/Loney/Ethier in return.
