  1. Who should be the starting QB when the Bears take the field next week in St. Louis? Hot topic right now so I figured a poll is in order.
  2. thats what I fear. I dont know what the problem is. Turner? Grossman's brashness? I dont get it. He was phenomenal early in the season, now just junk. I think he needs a mental break. He's still in his first full year starting so he's young. He's played more games this year than in the previous three combined. He's going to have good games and he's going to have bad games. This is why, at the beginning of the year, I didn't like when the media was going nuts after Grossman's first few games and were annointing him the next great QB in the league. It wasn't going to last. Now, the media has pulled a 180 and is ripping Grossman after a few bad games. He's not as good as he played those first few games and he's not as bad as he's played the last few games. Which leads me to Tony Romo. He's the media golden boy right now but you know that won't last. I doubt it gets as bad for Romo as it has for Grossman but as Romo proved today, he's going to have off games. He won't finish the year with a 110 rating. As for benching Grossman, I think it will happen but I'm not sure if it's the best idea or not.
  3. I hate John Madden.
  4. NO, NO, and NO. Rutgers clobbered by Cincy. Out. WVU lost at home to South Florida. Out. Both teams played schedules ridiculously easier than ND's. Out. A one loss Rutgers or WVU? Maybe. But not with two losses. WVU's loss to South Florida screwed them. That WVU-Rutgers game helped. If Rutgers had won, this board would have melted down with all the people yelping for Louisville with 1 loss as an at-large, and I hate to say it but they'd have been right. The way it went down ensured that neither of WVU or Rutgers could be reasonably argued for. I was torn for that game. I wanted 2 Big East teams and the only way that had the potential to happen would be if Rutgers won. But I had no faith in the bowls picking Louisville over Notre Dame. WVU losing to South Florida killed any hope of 2 Big East teams. If they finish with one loss I think they would have been picked as an at large because of how highly they were rated at the beginning of the year.
  5. this bites as that matchup will do nothing to settle the long debate. Wake blows. Not to mention the fact that WVU is stuck playing Georgia Tech and Rutgers has to play Kansas State. I wish either Louisville or WVU got to play a Pac 10/Big 10/SEC team. But no. At least we get an Arkansas-Wisconsin matchup though.

  7. And the Jay Cutler era begins in Denver.
  8. Of the eligible at large teams, after Boise St, Michigan, and LSU, ND was the most deserving of a BCS bowl. Go ahead and say that UW/Auburn/whoever else you want to was more deserving but they're ineligible because of the rule.
  9. I realize you're exaggerating but you might be underrating Boise State just a bit. I like Boise State, but OU has been a buzzsaw for about 2 months now. Add in that they have a vast physical/talent advantage and I think it's going to get ugly. Boise State is 14th in total defense. Before you dismiss this with they typical "they didn't play anybody", let me say that they did play in the WAC which typically has good offenses. They pounded Oregon State and scored 42 straight points. They demolished Nevada on both sides of the ball. This team is better than people think. I think Oklahoma will win the game but I don't think it will be a blowout. And I'm still not sold on Paul Thompson as a competant QB.
  10. I hope everyone in America agrees with you. And I mean that. Agreed. because that means that everyone else in America realizes, like you do, that Notre Dame doesn't deserve a BCS spot. Under the BCS rules, with only 2 teams allowed per conference, ND does deserve a bid.
  11. I realize you're exaggerating but you might be underrating Boise State just a bit.
  12. Nothing about ND losing sucks.
  13. That's not really saying much.
  14. If you're a betting man you'll get good odds on that.
  15. No shock there. Thanks for posting that.
  16. Orange Bowl has Louisville vs Wake Forest. Once again, no surprise.
  17. No surprise for the Fiesta Bowl with Boise state vs Oklahoma
  18. Selection show on now.
  19. I wouldn't call it a non-controversy.
  20. Yup. Just as I thought. And I posted this right when NY tied the game.
  21. i'm sure everyone on this board was on the edge of their seats awaiting the final from that game  That wouldn't surprise me in the least. :D
  22. Worthless Cowboys defense. Dallas is gonna win this game by 3 points and I'm going to lose my bet.
  23. And the Texas all but wrap up a victory over the Raiders. It's 23-14 Houston with 2:19 left. And the Raiders have no timeouts.
  24. Come on Dallas. Get the TD. And Barber does it. 20-13 Dallas.
  25. not if you have a great defense. Penn State has one of the 10 best defenses in the country. But they're 55th in offense and 72nd in turnover margin, and all of their good offensive performances came against bad teams. typically a top 10 defense in the country is enough to get you ranked no matter how bad your offense is. that's a little difficult when you play four teams that are better than you overall and you don't pull any of them out. typically a team with a top ten D gets into the top 25. Auburn's offense has proven to be only marginally better, their defense only marginally better. yet they find themselves sitting at what, #10? after getting smoked by a generall uninspiring Georgia team two weeks ago? c'mon man. the difference between those two teams are slight. certainly the difference is not one at #10 and one not rated whatsoever. TCU is 4th in total defense and they just got ranked this week. Miami is 5th in total defense and they aren't ranked. Wyoming is 8th in total defense and they aren't ranked. Georgia is 9th in total defense and they aren't ranked. Western Michigan is 11th. Clemson is 12th. Florida St is 15th. All of those teams are ahead of Penn State (16th) in total defense. Penn State played a harder schedule and better offenses than nearly all of those teams. Florida State, Miami and Georgia have defenses in the same league as Penn State, but the rest don't. My point was that a good defense isn't everything and doesn't make you a good team and doesn't mean you should automatically be ranked.
