  1. Ball State is coming through for me and is down 35-17 at halftime to Butler.
  2. Right as injury time was starting Giggs put a free kick into the box and Vidic got a head on it to tie the game at 1. It was the last play of the half. Man U was attacking relentlessly there for a while. Good and very entertaining match tbus far.
  3. WOW. What a shot in the Man U-Benfica game. Shot from about 30 yards out by a Benfica defender into the upper corner puts them up 1-0 in the 29th minute. As I'm typing this Ronaldo had good free kick saved. Should be an entertaining rest of the game since Benfica has to win to advance and Man U can't lose.
  4. That game isn't even on sportsbook.com to be wagered upon. That's how bad it's going to be.
  5. Good to hear he's recovering.
  6. Funny... a few weeks ago, I suggested 3/24 and got laughed at for "overpaying." It is definitely overpaying, whether you suggested it or Boston offered it. ...or perhaps there are some on this message board who don't have a firm grasp on the current market situation? I dont know who laughed at you but the rumors from the very beginning of the offseason were 4/32, so I don't see how 3/24 was that earth shattering of a prediction. Considering the SS market next offseason, this is a very very good move if they dont want to use Pedoria there. Isn't Pedroia a 2B not a SS?
  7. Hey ndistops, any chance Ball St. comes within 15 of Butler tonight?
  8. I agree with this statement from top to bottom. Both ND and the minor conference will be likely out next year (down year for ND, and I don't see any minor conference teams ready to go undefeated next year), so if they do not change the rule then they could be finding themselves in a situation where there are no eligible teams to fill the remaining slots if they are not careful-the 2 per conference rule has to be abolished now that they have expanded the BCS games, or at least raised to 3. I think it should be 3 per conference. Just like 2 out of 8 was okay, 3 out of 10 is fine as well.
  9. Missouri is 9-0 as well. They should be, with the piss-poor schedule they've played so far. 44th of 336 ranked schedule All home games and only 1 game against the RPI top 50, but only 1 game against a 201+ RPI team. It's been far from a joke, and they play Purdue, Illinois, and Mississippi State before conference play starts. I guess it depends on which set of rankings you look at. 307th out of 336 ranked
  10. Yeah, they were overrated at one point in the season but I wouldn't consider them overrated right now.
  11. Bremen has had numerous chances in the second half to cut the lead but they haven't been able to put one in. Chelsea will win the group and, barring a miracle in the last 3+ minutes, Barcelona will advance in second place.
  12. If by "most people" you mean "Notre Dame fans," then yes, they're seen as about the same. Well, then that makes his argument even worse. If ND is seen as worse than Wisconsin, then how they are over-rated if Wisconsin isn't also? I actually believe people think Wisconsin is a little better than ND, but I couldn't completely prove that, so that's why I didn't take the statement to that level, even though it would have made my case better. I don't think we'll know how good Wisconsin is until the bowl game because their schedule sucked this year (no OSU) and they played nobody OOC. I don't think it's possible to call Wisconsin underrated or overrated at the moment.
  13. Should be 3-0 right now. Deco made a great run downfield with the ball and got the ball with Gudjohnsen who beat two (or three) Bremen defenders and shot the ball past the goalie but off the post. Rebound by somebody was shot high and wide even though there was a wide open goal.
  14. In which millenium did he hit that well? It happened in 2000. I forget...was that part of this millenium and last century or vice versa? Last century and last millenium.
  15. Barcelona has come to play today. Five minutes after Ronaldinho, Gudjohnsen puts one in. 2-0 Barcelona. And while I'm typing this Barcelona has another good chance. Barca is taking it to Bremen today.
  16. Ronaldinho with the goal to put Barcelona up 1-0. Free kick from about 20 yards out and he intentionally shot it on the ground. The wall jumped and the ball went under.
  17. It just ran across the ESPN ticker but said it was according to FoxSports also.
  18. I made that same point in another thread on college football. Just another reason for a playoff. Except of course they would probably be picking playoff teams based on the same flawed coaches poll. The difference would be that the 9th best team or the 17th in a 16 team playoff doesnt really have a arguement they should be fighting for the NC. They would just be upset that they are out the money. Or you could just get rid of the coaches poll and bring back the AP poll into the BCS formula.
  19. Barcelona has to beat Werder Bremen to advance. Should be an excellent match. Tomorrow Man U has to at least tie Benfica to advance. There are also a lot of options with Group G as well with Arsenal/FC Porto/CSKA Moscow as well.
  20. I'm in.
  21. On MNF they announced that the Raiders and Lions have officially been eliminated from playoff contention.
