  1. I like this game a lot more than I did about 3 minutes ago.
  2. But Diaz wasn't frozen to the ground. He didn't play the ball either. If he had gone for the ball at all, then maybe you have a case. He doesn't go for the ball and he turns into Messi to make sure he gets him. And where the ball goes is largely irrelevant (it shouldn't be, but the way refs call the game it is). They give out PKs on balls that dudes lunge for and basically kick out of bounds just so they can beat the keeper to the ball and then trip over the keeper's arms. If any team should feel aggrieved over a red card, it's Argentina.
  3. That's a textbook yellow card. Messi has him beat and Diaz makes no attempt to play the ball and is only trying to get in Messi's way. I have no idea what you talking about with playing the ball perpendicular to his run. Messi pushes the ball to his right around Diaz because that's how you dribble around somebody and he's attempting to move that way before Diaz blocks him. Of course he's not doing to dribble right into Diaz. That would be dumb. And very little chance of catching up to that ball? Come on. He's got a yard or two on the guy behind him and 3 or 4 on the guy to his right. The Chilean in the middle isn't getting there and neither is the goalie. Messi was as good a bet as anyone to get that ball if he's not blocked.
  4. England-Iceland off to a fun start. 2-1 Iceland after 19 minutes.
  5. The Rojo red card wasn't even worthy of a yellow. He didn't really even touch Vidal.
  6. No need to watch any more of this one.
  7. The last couple innings have been extremely annoying.
  8. I was about to laugh about sending Conforto down but then I looked up his numbers and saw he has a .519 OPS since May 1.
  9. We totally missed it. It's not like there were five posts on it earlier on this page or anything.
  10. Double, walk, no doubt HR in the ninth for Rosenthal.
  11. completely stopped working for me Good to know it wasn't just me. At first it was Flash Player that just kept crashing but even when that worked, the video didn't play with any sort of consistency.
  12. No excuses for Belgium to not at least make the semis. I have no idea what his job security is but does Belgium's coach get fired if they don't make the semis? The bottom half of the draw is loaded. The top, not so much. Funny that Italy wins the group and draws Spain while Belgium finishes second and gets Hungary, but that's the way it goes sometimes. In addition to winning the H2H match, the winner of Italy/Spain could have a road of Germany, France/England and then Belgium to win the title.
  13. Thanks for playing a second team today, Italy!
  14. Cubs haven't been swept this year. Let's keep that run going.
  15. All 8 runs in the Rockies-DBacks game last night scored on solo home runs. First time ever that 8 solo HRs accounted for all the runs in the game.
  16. England blew their group yesterday by being unable to beat Slovakia. But they'll probably get lucky since it's more likely Iceland or Hungary finishes second rather than Portugal. Spain blew their group but isn't as lucky since they'll draw Italy in the next round. Germany pounded Northern Ireland but could only manage 1 goal and were lucky Poland only beat Ukraine 1-0 or else they could have blown their group also.
  17. You mean Coomer couldn't explain something properly? That never happens.
