    For a second he sounded like he was going to flip out, but retreated into his typical pouting silence. I'm surprised he even said "And we lose this game 4-3." I figured after "High and deep", he wouldn't say anything.

    Courtesy of Pat: deGrom threw a complete game 1 hitter yesterday and the only hit he allowed was to the pitcher. It was the fifth time a Mets pitcher has done that in franchise history.

    Was just coming to post about this. I should have waited a minute so we could have had our third simultaneous carbon-copy post this year. Haha. Chance missed, I guess. He's through 6 now and only thrown 72 pitches. And the Pirates and Nats are on to the 16th.

    Odds are they're going to get hot again. Next bunch of games: 3 vs. Milwaukee 3 vs. Philly 2 vs. Seattle 3 @ Milwaukee 3 @ Atlanta 3 vs. Cincinnati 3 vs. San Diego I wouldn't be surprised if Pittsburgh is leading the WC race come the middle of August.

    Cards gave up a run in the eighth and one in the ninth and trail the Marlins 7-6 in the bottoms of the ninth. Lead off hitter singled to start the inning, though. EDIT: K, K, 1B, K and Cards lose.

    Man did Stanton deliver tonight. I don't think they showed after the final but going into the last round he had something like the longest 8 HRs and 17 of the longest 18.

    How many times has a player that didn't make the ASG participated in the derby? I know Choi did it the year they had that format where a each player represented a country but I can't remember it happening since then. Cespedes, right?

    Bumgarner no no into the 6th. He's also K'd 12 (out of 16 outs).

    So Portugal wins 1 game out of 7 in regulation and wins the tournament.

    Pretty good finish to regular time with France getting a flury of opportunities including one off the post in the 90th minute. If France lose, Griezmann is going to be regretting that miss for a while.
