  1. Yes, Zobrist. Go up hacking against the dude who just threw four straight balls to start his outing.
  2. Another lead off baserunner. I can't wait to see how we don't score this inning.
  3. He's not pitching again until after the break. yeah, i mean why isn't he starting this weekend? So Lackey's ugly face gets another start.
  4. This team is not very fun to watch right now.
  5. Remember when the whole team didn't strike out? During the great stretch to start the year, they were top-5 in K%. They're 19th now.
  6. Great comeback by Federer today. Cilic had a huge chance at 3-3 in the third and up 0-40 on Federer's serve but Roger won 5 straight points to hold. Cilic also had 3 match points in the fourth set as well. Also, loved this line from ESPN's story about the match: So apparently Rafael Nadal is a power player now.
  7. Pretty sure Hammel is pitching tomorrow Arrieta, Lester, Hendricks going against Pittsburgh. Unless they switched it today, it's Lackey and not Hendricks. Also, the Cubs suck so bad right now but I still believe. If they don't make the playoffs then I will stop believing for this year and just say they sucked. Yeah, it's Lackey on Sunday. They mentioned during Monday's game that it was Hendricks's last start before the break.
  8. You must not follow soccer. That's weird, I could have sworn that Leicester and Tottenham (and arsenal) were top of the table this year. Maybe it was actually United and Chelsea. Yes, let's ignore Chelsea finishing in the top 3 in 11 of 12 years before last year. Or ManU's 22 straight top-3 finishes under Fergie (including 19 in the top-2). Or Arsenal's 20 straight top-4 finishes (they're way closer to ManU/Chelsea than they are to Leicester). Or Man City's 6 straight top-4 shortly after getting a huge influx of cash. Prior to this year, in the past decade, 38 of the 40 spots in the top-4 were filled by ManU, ManCity, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. The other two were Spurs. And the top-4 best odds to win the EPL this year? City, ManU, Arsenal and Chelsea.
  9. Need some Butters game thread magic going into the ASB.
  10. Hey, John. The offense is trying to win this thing for you. Try not to give up 10 runs, ok?
  11. corey seager has pretty much locked up the ROY already. A lot of people said that about Joc at this time last year. Joc had an unsustainable BABIP in April and when that stopped, he hit HRs at an unsustainable rate the next two months. When that stopped, his numbers plummeted because he struck out too much (almost 30%). Seager's been a better all around hitter than Joc.
  12. Fewest runs the Cubs have scored in a game against the Reds this year is 5. They've scored at least 8 in a game 8 times and double figures three time.
  13. Hopefully it's just as a precaution since its 8-0.
  14. Nice fake out by the camera guy on Russell's fly out.
  15. LOL. Cubs have hit 24 home runs against the Reds this year while the Reds have only scored 32 runs.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] This is equal parts ridiculous and appropriate.
