  1. Ump got the last two right. Ball 3 was outside and Strike 3 caught the edge of the zone. I don't like him either but he got those right.
  2. That's for not calling that, ump. It was only a clear strike. No biggie. Might have just cost a run also.
  3. Damn. Oh well. Hill is off a bit. We're getting to him next inning.
  4. Someone wasn't watching in the ninth inning the other night with Jansen v Bryant. At least Hill's was over the plate at some point in its trajectory. The Jansen one never got outside of the batters box.
  5. Got an extra ticket? I'll be in town for a wedding earlier Saturday but I've been given the go ahead from the wife to skip the dinner if there's a Cubs game. unfortunately not. not even sure i'll get to go yet. gonna be my brother, my sister in law, and his two kids, but i may get to sub in for my brother as he now might have to go out of town. that's pretty awesome of your wife, though. It's her cousin and even his father said he didn't care if I didn't go to dinner. I'm guessing that if the Cubs play that day, I won't be the only one who does it since the brides family is from Chicago. Don't know how many are Cubs fans though. Planning on going to Wrigleyville and camping out at a bar outside while checking Gametime and Seatgeek as the game is starting in hopes of some last minute deals. Not counting on much though.
  6. Got an extra ticket? I'll be in town for a wedding earlier Saturday but I've been given the go ahead from the wife to skip the dinner if there's a Cubs game.
  7. I'm fully confident. Cubs are going to get to 6-inning Rich and Jake will be good enough, then they'll get to 4 inning Urias and the Dodger pen and Lackey will do enough. If LA wants to throw Kershaw on short rest in Game 5, go for it. If the Cubs don't win that one, they'll knock Maeda around in Game 6. horsefeathers LA, Cubs are winning this horsefeathers.
  8. 8 teams have swept a best-of-7 LCS and only the 95 Braves won the World Series. Of the other 7, the 14 Royals won 3 games and the rest lost in either 4 or 5.
  9. You said if you were given +200 on the Dodgers winning all three games in LA means you think it's a 1 in 3 chance of happening. That's about a 70% chance of winning each game, which is ridiculous.
  10. How do you feel about arietta and lackey right now? Real confident? Then we'd get Kershaw in LA in game 5. It's likely we take one of those games but if someone gave me odds we go 0-3 in LA I would definitely take it Why would Kershaw pitch game 5 on 3 days rest if the Dodgers were up 3-1 in your scenario? Look my brain is constantly trying to feed me pessimistic thoughts but this team has passed the test so many times I won't let one loss change that opinion. Come on this team hasn't made a believer out of you yet? I think Kershaw goes in Game 5 if it's 3-1 Cubs or it's tied. I doubt he pitches if LA is up 3-1.
  11. The previous four games were 5-5-6-8, runs wise. Not abysmal. But definitely not where it should be. Russell has to be moved out of the five spot. Having two hitters who are slumping badly back to back in the middle of your lineup can't continue. What was the team OPS in those four games 718, 645, 580 and 1051.
  12. Kershaw's definitely coming back in Game 5, right? Only threw 84 pitches tonight.
  13. Last time Cubs trailed in the 9th with the top of the order up, they got 4. This time, half that will do. Hell, I'll take 1/4 of that.
