  1. Guess I should have bought a ticket the other night. Cheapest on Stubhub and Seatgeek are $500 for SRO.
  2. I know there's still work to be done but can you guys taste the World Series? Because I sure as hell can. The next two days are going to be a bunch of [expletive] from the media. 1908 this, 71 years since a pennant that, 2003 this, 1984 that. And I'm sure Fox already has a wonderful video compilation of Bartman ready to go. Most of that horsefeathers ends on Saturday (1908 will have to wait a week or so). This is happening. Clayton Kershaw, you're on notice. CUBS are 109-61-1 when they play a baseball game CUBS are 6-3 in the playoffs CUBS are 60-25 at home CUBS are 19-11 when Hendricks starts CUBS are 7-5 against the Dodgers Go CUBS!!
  3. I don't like Chapman for 2. Why not Strop?
  4. I hope we don't regret not getting more in the first.
  5. Cubs are scoring in the next inning.
  6. Maeda's got nothing. Cubs better knock him around.
  7. Where'd you end up? I'm just at a friends house for tonight...got a feeling Saturday is going to be a somewhat expensive day. Settled on Fatpour. Solid beer selection. Our AirBnB was actually off the Division stop so that worked out well.
  8. How do you guys last until 7 each night? This is terrible.
  9. I hope someone responded "It's 9:50 and the Dodgers still lost by 8".
  10. Squally and Omar, thanks for the bar tips. I'll have to check them out after I land in Chicago.
  11. Need a recommendation for a good place to watch tonight's game. Looking for somewhere either close by the Loop or off the blue line close to the Loop. Preferably within about a half mile from a train. My wife is meeting me there so I'm trying to keep it easier for her. Looking for a place with a decent beer selection and one that will hopefully have audio going for the game.
  12. Yeah, you've got to win 2 of 3 regardless. Might as well save Kershaw for normal rest. It's not like if they were down 3-1, started Maeda and got eliminated without Kershaw pitching. You're getting one start from Kershaw and unless you're dead set on starting Hill in Game 6 on short rest, you're stuck with a Maeda start anyway, whether its in Game 5 or 6.
  13. If Edwards is done, anyone know if there's a limit on how soon the Cubs have to declare him out? Like if he doesn't pitch tomorrow (which he probably wouldn't anyway), could they say he's hurt on Friday or do they have to do it before the next game?
  14. Yup. Baseball season ends when the Cubs are done. I haven't watched a world series in my lifetime. Yeah ok, sure Mike Golic Yeah, at this point, I'll probably watch the World Series. I didn't watch the one in 03 and had we blown the Giants series, I wouldn't have watched the rest of the playoffs this year. But aside from some epic collapse (and I don't mean normal playoff crapshoot stuff like 2008), I'll watch the rest of the playoffs.
  15. Yeah, horsefeathers LA. No chance I'm rooting for them.
  16. Three teams have won all three of their UCL games so far: Barcelona Atletico Madrid Leicester City I know their group is probably the weakest in the field but it's still amazing that they're pretty much in the knockout stages after 3 games.
  17. For some reason, I'm in a much better mood right now than I was 24 hours ago. I can't quite put my finger on exactly why, though. Cubs are throwing Lester, who has been a stud in the playoffs so far. Dodgers will probably be starting Maeda but really, who the hell knows if Roberts will switch it up and toss Kershaw out there. CUBS are 108-61-1 when they play a baseball game CUBS are 5-3 in the playoffs CUBS are 48-36-1 on the road CUBS are 26-8 when Lester starts CUBS are 6-5 against the Dodgers Go CUBS !!
  18. I'm open for suggestions if anyone has one. The Lackey one was just so natural.
  19. Please save some hits for the next two games, Rizzo.
  20. I'd like to see Rondon get an inning. Hasn't pitched since Saturday and as long as he doesn't throw 25-30 pitches, he's available tomorrow.
  21. So if the Cubs are going to continue that whole "3-game losing streak every postseason" thing they've got going on, at least we'll get a World Series appearance out of it this time.
