Actually kind of surprised by this. I get the extra rest, but he's still spending less innings on the mound this way if the series goes 7. Pretty sure the Dodgers are confident there won't be a G7, and/or they're so confident in Hill after last night that they're banking on not needing Kershaw out of the pen anymore. It would also mean if he pitches in Game 6 and the Dodgers win this series, he'd couldn't pitch Game 1 and if they start him in Game 2 it would be on short rest.
