The gold medal in hockey coming down to a shootout is horsefeathering terrible. I don’t particularly like the 4 on 4 overtime either but I understand it. I get not wanting the other elimination games to go on forever for fairness sake. In the NHL, either both teams are in the same boat for the next game or, if it’s a Game 7 that goes forever, even if fatigue costs the winner Game 1 of the next series, they’ve got time to make it up. But it’s the gold medal game. Let them play it out. Even if it’s 4 on 4 the entire time, just don’t go to a shootout.

Arbitrary cutoff points and all but it's one of only 4 seasons where a pitcher put up an ERA over 4.8 and had 19+ wins. Two were in the 1930's and the other was Mussina in 1996.

I think the big difference with the Dez play is that Dez's steps were not controlled. By the time Dez's second foot comes down from jumping, he's clearly falling. Ertz was running for 3 steps before getting hit and diving. That's true. Watched the Dez one again and his was definitely more falling to the ground/diving while Ertz was three steps then a dive. Guess that was why they ruled Ertz to be a runner at that point.

Foles did go 28-43, 373, 3 TDs, 1 INT and a TD catch. The yards were the 5th most in a Super Bowl.

I’d feel better about this if Philly hadn’t blown 2nd and goal from the 2. Of course, after last year, I won’t feel good until the game is actually over and Philly’s actually won.

really? i'd pick milwaukee and it's not all that close The last time the Cards won fewer than 80 games was 2007. It’s the only time in the last 18 years they’ve won less than 80. And they still won 78 games that year. In that same 18 year span, the Brewers won less than 80 games 10 times. The second worst win total St Louis had in the last 18 years is 83. The Brewers have won more than 83 games 3 times in those 18 years (‘08, ‘11, ‘17). The Brewers being crap is commonplace. But just once I’d like to see the Cards fall on their faces and just be terrible. -

If you told me I could pick either the Brewers or the Cards to only win 70 games this year, well, I'd definitely still pick the Cards but I'd actually think about it for a second or two. -
Boogie reportedly tore his Achilles today in a non contact injury.

Best guess at the draft picks for the starters: Durant (LeBron) Harden (Steph) Davis (L) Giannis (S) Irving (L) Embiid (S) Boogie (L) DeRozan (S) Guaranteed Durant was first and DeRozan was last. Pretty sure Boogie was second to last. I could see the Giannis and Embiid picks being swapped though.
