  1. Altuve-Correa-Gurriel coming up.
  2. Sure. Why not.
  3. Tied for the most homers in a WS with 2002 and we're not through 5 games yet. But sure, Rob Manfred, nothing is different with the baseball.
  4. Here we go again.
  5. Dodgers just need to blow a 2-run lead to complete the cycle of blown leads.
  6. Great job, Springer. Keep that in front of you and it's 1sy and 2nd.
  7. He wasn't very good in Game 1, the Cubs just didn't do enough and Game 5 he could have pitched right handed and it wouldn't have mattered.
  8. This game is insane and we're not even through 5.
  9. I think it would be funny if OSU dropped a conference game, won the Big 10 title game and got left out of the playoff in favor of Penn St.
  10. Bad take. Uniforms are dope. Also, why would anyone take tOSU in this game? I called Penn St blowout. There aren't many certainties in life but one of them is that all grey uniforms are boring and bland.
  11. OSU deserves to lose for wearing these crappy grey uniforms at home.
  12. I'll gladly take any stress that comes with being in the World Series over not making it in the first place.
  13. Yanking Hill after 4 innings is odd. I get that the Astros have a bunch of righties but Hill's a good pitcher. This isn't some 4.5 ERA guy you're throwing out there hoping he gets two times through the order. Putting Stripling in to start the 7th and yanking him after he walks one batter is a questionable decision also. If you're going to yank him after one batter, just put Morrow in to begin with. They're both righties so it's not like you're bringing in a lefty to face one lefty batter.
  14. Good job, Giles.
  15. The Russian is cut!
  16. Last time two 100-win teams played in the World Series was 1970 when Baltimore (108) played Cincinnati (102).
  17. Team who clinched their LCS series first has lost the last eight World Series (last one to win was the 08 Phillies). Hopefully that continues.
  18. Game 7 tonight. Remember the last MLB game 7? I think we enjoyed that one a little bit.
  19. It was the lazy get traffic assessment of the team and not really understanding that we are in a still really big window. it called them "perennial contenders" for the future. We've been lucky to have three straight years of 90+ wins, that rarely rarely happens. Even rarer is for that to happen at the beginning of a window. But there's a very narrow margin for this team (any team,) and given our pitching and bullpen issues, there's a reasonable argument you could make that what looked like an unstoppable juggernaut 12 months ago could be a couple injuries away from a win total in the mid 80s. The unstoppable juggernaut thing was an exaggeration anyway. It's not like the pitching stuff snuck up on us. We knew Lackey was old and there was a decent chance he'd blow up. Arrieta got significantly worse in the second half last year and we knew he was likely going to be playing for another team in 2018. Is needing two pitchers this offseason isn't a surprise. Bullpens are really fickle. We got fluky performances from Cahill and Wood. Rondon hasn't been the same since he got hurt. All teams have a ton of bullpen turnover. We all knew most of the long term pieces on this team were on offense and the offense itself would be good enough to make us a good team year in and year out. When you get great pitching/defense like we did last year, you're a dominant 103 win team. When the pitching is merely good instead of great, you get a low to mid 90's. And most good teams are a couple of injures away from a win total in the mid 80s.
  20. It's like you don't know how playoff baseball works. The Indians last year went 2, 2, 4, 1, 3 in the ALCS and 6, 1, 1, 7, 2, 3 in the WS before Game 7. So two good offensive games out of 11. We had a terrible series against the Mets in 2015. They also had 4 very good pitchers going. Those guys shut down a lot of teams. Last year we had two bad games against Kershaw and Hill but in the other 4 games they scored 8, 10, 8 and 5. Giants series they scored 1, 5, 5 and 6. WS was 0, 5, 0, 2, 3, 9, 8. Two bad games against Kluber and an inexplicably bad game against Tomlin. This year they got Strasburg twice, Scherzer, Kershaw twice, Hill, Darvish and Wood. When the worst starter you face is Gio Gonzalez, you faced a tough slate. These things happen. Sometimes Kershaw shuts you out and sometimes you light him up for 5 runs to advance to the WS.
  21. Yeah, unless I missed someone, Dusty is 5 years older than the next oldest manager, who is Maddon at 63. Guys just don't get hired at 70.
  22. then explain the 92 wins, division championship and NLCS appearance. The Giants never got close to those things in odd years. Even years: win World Series Odd years: lose in NLCS Cubs just don't tank as much as SF in the odd years.
