  1. Javy gets two hits including a dong. Neither Almora nor Contreras grounds into a double play.
  2. I tried this yesterday and David and others pointed out that they are actually slightly below average at hitting LHP when you adjust for park effects .898 OPS at home against lefties (977 PAs) .702 OPS on the road against lefties (1010 PAs) For a little more positivity, the Cubs are .797 OPS at home against lefties this year (.667 on the road).
  3. Not too surprising since LA is at home. And Friday they’ll have four games so LA is late and they’re probably hoping for Bos-NYY so that gets a prime time slot.
  4. Really hope we don’t use Hendricks out of the pen.
  5. So John, what are your thoughts on the Cubs having to play in the WC game? http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/2937955/damnyankees_medium.gif Ok. Well, uh, would you care to extrapolate a little bit? Could we get more than a one word answer? http://gif.mocksession.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/LACKEYGD.gif Sorry, I didn't quite get that... Perfect. Thanks for your thoughts on that! So switching gears, what do you think Jon Lester's midset is going into the game? The Rockies, I know this is their third game in three cities in three days, but they've got their ace going. And even though he's on short rest, they probably think they've got a good shot to win this game. http://cdn3.sbnation.com/assets/3396625/lackey.gif So if you were in Jon Lester's shoes tonight, what would you tell Kyle Freeland and the Rockies? Thanks for your time, John!
  6. The pessimist in me says, just like all year, only one of the pitching or the offense will show up tomorrow. So we'll either light Freeland up but Jon will get knocked around and we'll lose like 8-6 or Jon will show up big but we'll get little off Freeland and lose 3-2. The optimist in me says the Rockies were stuck between starting a very good pitcher on short rest or some crap pitcher and it's going to come back to bite them. We knock Freeland around early, cruise to an easy 7-1 win and head to Milwaukee.
  7. If you're telling me either way we're going to lose, then yeah, I'd rather just get it over with tomorrow. But I'd much rather win tomorrow and take my chances in the NLDS. The Brewers aren't some juggernaut. We can beat them and I want another shot. Plus, even though I wanted the Cards to win a game in that series, a part of me does appreciate the Brewers just wiping them out. I just wish the Cards would have won one of the first two games because it sucked some of the enjoyment out of that dude getting snipered going around third in the final game. Don't get me wrong, though, I'll definitely be rooting for the Rockies if we lose tomorrow.
  8. Ask Corey Kluber about Game 7. Yes I know he shut us down in Game 4 on short rest and I don’t give a horsefeathers.
  9. Your order is correct. The only record near the top that’s off is David who was 6-4 but that keeps him in the same spot. We only need the top 8 anyway, maybe 10 in case of a no show or two.
  10. now that i'm calming down my hopes are rising again. Just win tomorrow, steal the Brewers defensive cheat codes, and then take it game by game in the NLDS maybe im just being a hopeless idiot here but i feel pretty good about matching up with them in an actual series? We would have our best pitcher set for Game 1.
  11. I feel like that’s what most people are saying. That’s certainly how I feel.
  12. Yeah, he literally put up Bonds 2001-04 numbers for a month. Slightly lower OBP, slightly higher SLG.
  13. To be fair I kind of get that. As more data was added, we all changed our opinions on the Brewers. Any whining from me on that is because I used Duke and others to calm me down throughout the year and I feel let down even though it completely isnt their fault everyone being like "well look we all had to change our opinion on the brewers when more information came in!" should go back and look at 99 percent of the posts about the brewers on this board from April until like late August. anyway my real point is that it really doesnt matter because this cubs team is the same team tomorrow having lost today as they would have been had they won today. A 95 win team in the playoffs with a couple hot pitchers is as good a threat to win as anyone. No no no. You have to keep with the negativity. It’s the how we flipped the Dodger series around in 2016.
  14. yelich carried a .500 wOBA for a month and the cubs played well in september. milwaukee went balls out. why is it a bad thing that i'm willing to give more credit to milwaukee than blame to the cubs? Because the Cubs are a bunch of gutless choking dogs and no rational explanation matters. /abuck
  15. it's pretty clear the brewers are never losing again They’re going on a 2007 Rockies run.
  16. Ok, so we hold the Brewers here, three guys get on and Bote hits a walkoff grand slam.
  17. Good job Kintzler you horsefeathering idiot.
  18. Oh good, Soft Contact Kintzler coming in.
  19. If they pitch to him Maddon needs to be fired immediately. Brought in a lefty so they’re pitching to him.
  20. Pitching doing it’s job. Score another run dammit.
  21. Need at least a double since Murphy’s slow ass won’t score on a single.
